Abstract: In one embodiment, a plot width for an image to be printed is determined. A carriage return time that is a function of the plot width and a first carriage speed in a first printmode is calculated. A change is made from the first printmode to a second printmode according to an objective if the carriage return time is less than a media advance time.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a first text fragment is made available for copying from a fragment repository. The first text fragment is electronically linked to a second text fragment that is a copy of the first text fragment, the second text fragment included in a container external to the fragment repository. A rating is provided for a derivative of the second fragment created within the container. A third text fragment that is a derivative of the second text fragment is received at the fragment repository. The first and third text fragments are electronically linked, and the third text fragment is made available for copying.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a transparent platen supported over an inside of a tub, an elongated member situated in the tub in a horizontal plane, a plurality of biasing members operatively connected to the elongated member, and a plurality of gap-maintaining members operable to connect to an image capture module and operatively connected to the platen. The elongated member is movable within a tub in a vertical plane, to movably support an image capture module in a horizontal plane. The biasing members are operable to urge the elongated member towards the platen. The gap-maintaining members are operable to maintain a constant distance between platen and an image capture module.

Abstract: A method and system for displaying images are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes incorporating a plurality of related images into an image boundary, applying the image boundary to border at least one key image, and displaying the at least one key image and the image boundary in a display area.

A first request is received from a first printer that is a member of the group. The first request is a request to share the content with a second printer that is a member of the group. A communication that the content is accessible at the second printer is sent. A second request is received from the second printer. The second request is a request to provide the content to the second printer. Content is provided to the second printer.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a device for use with a first carriage carrying a printhead and a sensor includes a track. The track is positioned adjacent to a path, the path being followed by the first carriage. A second carriage is movable along the track and carries a target. The second carriage is movable between a first position, in which the target is away from the sensor, and a second position, in which the target is adjacent to the sensor and a reference included in the target is a known distance away from the sensor.

Abstract: A shuttering and sealing device is disclosed. In one embodiment, the device includes an aperture through which light may pass to an optical sensor, a seal surrounding the aperture, and a shutter movable between an open position in which the shutter does not cover the aperture and a closed position in which the shutter covers the aperture and the seal seals the shutter around the aperture.

Abstract: A system for monitoring ink flow is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes a printhead configured to perform a priming event, a heating element, a sensor configured to measure the temperature of a printhead die at a plurality of times, and a processor configured to determine the success of a priming event by comparing an actual cooling rate to a threshold cooling rate.
