Patent number: 6807760Abstract: Apparatus for displaying still images to viewers in motion relative to those images, such as passengers on a subway train, includes a plurality of images mounted on a surface, and a slitboard mounted between that surface and the viewer. As the viewers pass by, the slitboard acts like a shutter, creating an animation effect. In addition, there is a stretching or widening effect that enlarges the images, allowing images to be “preshrunk,” thereby allowing a large number of images in a small space, increasing the available frame rate of the animation. The stretching effect depends on the distance between the image surface and the slitboard.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2003Date of Patent: October 26, 2004Assignee: Submedia, LLCInventors: Joshua D. Patent number: 6795587Abstract: Asymmetric finite impulse response (FIR) filters are used to estimate gradients for re-sampling models used in image resizing. Better than conventional 3-tap symmetric FIR filters, these filters provide good edge and extended-frequency responses with good narrow peak sharpening characteristics. These filters emphasize accurate edge handling, where gradients are steepest, over accurate peak handling, where gradients are shallowest. This results in superior zone-plate test signals and better resized image quality.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2001Date of Patent: September 21, 2004Assignee: Micron Technology, Inc.Inventor: Keith R. Patent number: 6743681Abstract: Gate and storage dielectric systems and methods of their fabrication are presented. A passivated overlayer deposited between a layer of dielectric material and a gate or first storage plate maintains a high K (dielectric constant) value of the dielectric material. The high K dielectric material forms an improved interface with a substrate or second plate. This improves dielectric system reliability and uniformity and permits greater scalability, dielectric interface compatibility, structural stability, charge control, and stoichiometric reproducibility. Furthermore, etch selectivity, low leakage current, uniform dielectric breakdown, and improved high temperature chemical passivity also result.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2001Date of Patent: June 1, 2004Assignee: Micron Technology, Inc.Inventor: Arup Bhattacharyya

Patent number: 6728151Abstract: Circuits and methods for driving a DRAM sense amplifier having low threshold voltage PMOS transistors are described. The source terminal of a low Vtp PMOS transistor is maintained at ground potential during DRAM standby mode. The source terminal of the low Vtp PMOS transistor is raised to an intermediate supply voltage responsive to a transition from DRAM standby mode to either DRAM read mode, write mode, or refresh mode and prior to development of a differential voltage between the gate and drain terminals of the low Vtp PMOS transistor. These circuits and methods advantageously limit current loss through the low Vtp PMOS transistor when the differential voltage develops between the gate and drain terminals of that low Vtp PMOS transistor and in the event of a word line and digital line short-circuit.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2002Date of Patent: April 27, 2004Assignee: Micron Technology, Inc.Inventor: Yangsung Joo
