Patent number: 4024832Abstract: A bookmarker comprises an inserted or first section adapted to extend along one side of a page or leaf of a book or the like, a tongue extending from the first section and adapted to extend on the other side of the page or leaf and cooperating with the first section to hold the marker to the page or leaf with a wedging action, and a flexible second section which is adapted to extend from the first section and the page or leaf. The first section or second section, which is visible even if the book is closed, may carry printed or written messages. The relative flexibility of the second section permits the bookmarker to bend should the marker be forced toward the book, as if dropped, or even tapped slightly, so that the pages of the book are not damaged.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1975Date of Patent: May 24, 1977Inventor: Frank J. Patent number: 4009971Abstract: A double acting pump is operated by a crank that is powered through a gear train driven by an electric motor. An adjustable pressure sensing device is used to control operation of the pump. A single motor, double pump embodiment is also described.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 1974Date of Patent: March 1, 1977Assignee: Binks Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Duane D. Krohn, Samuel W. Patent number: 4004035Abstract: A shredded food article in the form of a biscuit is produced by depositing a web of longitudinally shredded food transversely across a moving bed in a uniform overlapping zigzag configuration to produce a wider, continuous, multiple layer sheet. The sheet is first cut longitudinally and is then cut transversely to produce a plurality of files and rows of lapped shredded biscuits on the moving bed. The process may include two separate lapping operations in which a flavorful filling is deposited between laps to produce a composite biscuit having an interior filling.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1975Date of Patent: January 18, 1977Assignee: Kellogg CompanyInventors: Rudolph W. Patent number: 4001935Abstract: A light weight, compact roving cutter for chopping fiberglass roving into short fiber segments, and used in conjunction with a hand-held resin spray gun, has a mounting plate containing an air inlet port for driving an air motor carried thereon, a snap-on cutter rotor or roller driven by the air motor and carrying a plurality of blades secured by single fastening means, a friction roller cooperable with the cutter roller and blades thereof for breaking or cutting the roving, means accessible to the operator for adjusting the clearance between the rollers and the contact of the friction roller with the blades while the cutter is operating, and means for matching the discharge pattern of the cut segments of roving to the spray pattern of the resin spray gun, including air jet means supplied with pressurized air separate from that supplied to the motor.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 1975Date of Patent: January 11, 1977Assignee: Binks Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Duane D. Patent number: 3992125Abstract: Underwater power apparatus for harnessing a flowing river or large stream, includes blades or sails moving within a housing and in a circuit on a power leg and return leg. The housing directs the stream flow onto the power leg to drive the apparatus and diverts the flow from the return leg to provide a quiescent area for the return leg. Preferably, the blades or sails are opened when on the power leg and are folded or closed when on the return leg to reduce resistance. The underwater power apparatus may have either arcuate or linear power and return legs. In the latter case, the legs can be of sufficient length to develop a high power output. Since the apparatus is disposed completely underwater it disrupts neither the scenic beauty nor the navigation of the river.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 1974Date of Patent: November 16, 1976Inventor: Rolf E. Schilling

Patent number: 3977569Abstract: A barrel shaped drink dispenser comprises two connectable and separable halves forming a barrel-like shell containing a drink or beverage filled bag. One of the halves has an opening for receiving a spout for emptying the bag, and at least one of the halves has an extending leg element for preventing the shell from rolling about when layed on its side. Preferably, each of the halves is provided with a leg element and is adapted to be engaged by a coin or the like to facilitate separating the halves. The configuration of each of the halves is such to permit stacking of the disassembled halves for ease of storage and shipment.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 1975Date of Patent: August 31, 1976Assignee: Scholle CorporationInventor: William R. Patent number: 3952810Abstract: A slit trenching and cable laying device includes: a frame held above the ground by a support, preferably adjustable to various levels above the ground, a plow for digging a slit trench and laying a cable or line therein, the plow being mounted so as to be relatively movable with respect to the frame, a mechanism for imparting a digging motion to the plow, preferably, adjustable to impart a variable motion and being adapted to be driven by a vehicle towing the device, and another mechanism for imparting a motion to the plow for reducing surface contact and resultant drag between the plow and the sides of the trench, preferably adjustable for varying the magnitude of the motion as conditions warrant.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1974Date of Patent: April 27, 1976Assignee: Ulrich Foundation, Inc.Inventor: Raymond M.
