  • Patent number: 6453935
Abstract: A fluid injector made of pressure rated components that attach to a fluid flow line so that flow is transferred from the flow line, into the injection unit and back to the fluid flow line. The inlet flow is used to pressurize the storage tank and provide a solution to mix with injection solutions in the tank to provide an accurate preset or adjustable injection rate into the fluid flow line. Vent/proportioner ports provide back flow protection, prevent fluid from siphoning from the storage tank, provide an internal air release port and set injection ratios. A mixing control valve adjusts the injection ratios by mixing outgoing injection solutions with incoming fluid from the fluid flow line. Flexible bladders isolate one or more injection solutions within one storage container which are injected simultaneously at independent injection rates.

  • Patent number: 6409160
Abstract: A spring assembly having a coil containing a core and methods and apparatus for manufacturing same are disclosed. The coil includes a core between reduced portions of the coil. One device for manufacturing the coil includes a coiling machine having an insert device operable with a coiler. The coiler is programmed to form coils of appropriate diameter along the length of the coil, including a diameter sufficiently large to contain the core and two diameters sufficiently small to retain the core in the coil. The insert device transfers the core to the coil after the first small diameter is formed and before the second small diameter is formed. The coil with the core contained between the two small diameters is thereby manufactured in a unified automated process.

  • Patent number: 6400896
Abstract: A heat exchanger for a phase change material including a container holding the phase change material, a tube surrounding the container to define an annular space therebetween, and preferably divider walls within that annular space to create a circuitous path for heat exchange fluid to be routed in multiple passes along the length of the container when passing from the top of the annular space to the bottom of the annular space. When the heat exchanger is operated in a melt cycle, multiple heat energy transfer elements positioned within the lower portion of the container and extending through the phase change material are heatable to a sufficiently high temperature to initiate melting of the phase change material. The heat energy transfer elements are preferably electrical resistance heated rods or coils, or tubes through which is routed high temperature fluid.

  • Patent number: 6332393
Abstract: A symmetric pump having a symmetric end cap attached to a symmetric housing is disclosed. The end cap is attachable in a first position or a second position wherein the second position is rotated relative to the housing. The end cap includes structure such that the housing may be connected in a second position so that the trunnion arm extends in a second direction while maintaining the system port opening in the first orientation. The end cap may be provided with a symmetric porting system. A control device for affecting movement of the swashplate is disclosed. Methods of locking the swashplate into a predetermined position are also taught.

  • Patent number: 6322474
Abstract: A improved differential design intended for use in a vehicle, such as a tractor using a hydrostatic transmission. The differential has a ring gear with an opening formed therein. A pair of axle shafts used to drive the vehicle engage respective bevel gears, which are also engaged to a pair of planet gears in the differential. The planet gears are rotatably mounted in the ring gear opening and may be mounted on a shaft. The differential includes a block having at least a first end and a second end which engage the ring gear opening, and the block has a longitudinal axis which is not coincident with the axis of rotation of the planet gear. The block thus increases the strength of the ring gear and allows use of a ring gear having a larger opening.
