  • Patent number: 8348324
Abstract: A removable, drapable liner intended for protecting a cargo space of a vehicle. The liner has a base and four sides, all being made of a flexible, tear resistant, water resistant fabric, and is transformable between a stored state, in which it may fold flat or be rolled up, and a drapable, open-topped, box-shaped state. The liner is neither rigid nor self standing, but does have supportive draping strips that provide sufficient support to easily conform the liner to the shape of the cargo space, effectively draping it against the sides and base of the cargo container. The four supportive draping strips each form part of a join between two sides of the liner. The draping strips extending along the length of the joins. Draped against the cargo space, the liner is easy to fill and maximizes the use of the cargo space, while protecting the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8333315
Abstract: A method for connecting a conducting wire to an electric heating film is provided. The method includes: first, opening a groove on an electric heating film carrier; then, placing one end of a connecting wire in the groove; afterwards, pouring a conductive adhesive into the groove; and finally, heating the electric heating film carrier, so that the electric heating film carrier is just melted and the connecting wire and the conductive adhesive are merged into a whole; and cooling the electric heating film carrier, and solidifying the conductive adhesive. The electric heating film carrier is made of various dielectric materials such as glass, ceramics, enamel, mica, quartz, and microcrystalline glass. Two sides of the electric heating film carrier are coated with layered electrodes, and the layered electrodes are connected in series to the electric heating film. The groove is disposed in the middle of the layered electrode, and the groove is an annular groove. The connecting wire is a pure silver wire.

  • Patent number: 8301653
Abstract: The present invention discloses a computer system for reporting online sessions and a computer enabled method utilizing the same. The computer system is made up of an icon that preferably appears on a user screen. The icon is capable of capturing a screen session on the user screen and saving it within a recording. The recording may then be communicated to a database server that is capable of extracting a plurality of target components from said recording, and is capable of storing them in a database. The database may contain a benchmark content of the plurality of target components. Target components may then be compared against the benchmark content in a variety of ways to determine whether the level of target components is above or below reasonable and socially accepted levels.

  • Patent number: 8273162
Abstract: The objective of the unit 10 is mainly to adsorb Hydrogen Sulfide gas (also known as H2S) and other gases including but not limited to Carbon Dioxide 26 from plumbing, sewer, and wastewater management system vents 21 thereby removing the odor and or greenhouse gasses associated with the air stream/gas 26. The unique “T” housing 12 shaped design, along with the unique perforated disc containment system 14 holds the filtration media 16 in the horizontal portion 120 of the “T” housing 12. configuration allows fresh air circulation 28 to blend with the odorous gasses 26 passing through the filtration media 16 within the containment chamber and reduces their concentration (PPM) thereby increasing the life of the unit 10. Having the inlet to the filtration media at the base of the vertical portion of the “T” 120 and two outlets at the distal ends 119 of equal or greater size and diameter as each other or as the inlet, also reduces Pressure drop across the media 16.

  • Patent number: 8226369
Abstract: The present invention discloses an article of manufacture comprising a conical helicoid wind turbine. The conical helicoid is configured such that its apex faces toward the on-coming wind which allows airflow to transverse through the curved sail from the front center to the outer rear extremity. This dynamic shape produces the optimum amount of force by distributing the wind load to the outer edges of the wind turbine's rotation. In addition, by channeling the flow of air through the conical helix to convert to motive force, the turbine forces the wind into a vortexual formation which entrains wind flow in tandem with the turbine's rotational force, thus reducing backflow turbulences.

  • Patent number: 8192744
Abstract: Soluble recombinant CD44 hyaluronic acid binding domain (CD44HABD) inhibits angiogenesis in vivo in chick and mouse and thereby inhibits human tumor growth of various origins. The anti-angiogenic effect of CD44-HABD is independent of hyaluronic acid (HA) binding, since non-HA-binding mutants of CD44HABD still maintain anti-angiogenic properties. The invention discloses soluble non glycosylated CD44 recombinant proteins as a novel class of angiogenesis inhibitors based on targeting of vascular cell surface receptor. A method of block of angiogenesis and treatment of human tumors using recombinant CD44 proteins as well as their analogues is disclosed. As a further embodiment of the invention, methods for screening for new drug targets using CD44 recombinant proteins and their analogues are presented.

  • Patent number: 8181394
Abstract: This invention claims a steel elevator door guide, which contains a reinforcement beam, an attachment beam, a guide carrier and a glide. The attachment beam connects at the bottom end of a elevator cab or corridor door. The invention is held securely clamped together by fasteners, welding or glue. To further protect against any lateral movement imposed onto an elevator door, one or more frictional surfaces is engraved at contact points between individual components and safety rail(s) are provided. A noise reducing, nylon glide is attached to the guide carrier using the same fasteners as those supporting the reinforcement beam. These components are intended to prevent lateral motion of an elevator cab or corridor door even if a severe lateral pressure on the elevator doors has caused the glide to severely flex or fail.
