Abstract: Deteriorated or aged magnetic recording media exhibiting undesirable properties such as shed, stickiness or squeal are restored to playable condition having no such objectionable properties by heating the media to an elevated temperature and for lengths of time sufficient to restore the media. A typical temperature used is 54.degree. C. and a typical effective time is 16 hours. Ambient humidity is suitable. The restored media can be used to transfer data or information to new media. Restored media can also be again heat treated for restoration purposes, if it deteriorates again.

Abstract: A bi-polar electrocautery needle comprising an inner electrode, an outer electrode and recoverable insulating-locking means for insulating the electrodes from one another and locking them into relative position to one another. And the method of making the bi-polar electrocautery needle in accordance with this invention, the steps including: expanding recoverable dielectric material over an inner electrode; inserting the combination into an outer electrode, and recovering the material between the electrodes for insulating and locking the electrodes into relative position with one another.
Abstract: There is disclosed a high flow catheter for injecting fluids into a mammalian body. The catheter has an inside diameter, a proximal end for attachment to a fluid source and a distal end for insertion into the body. The inside diameter of the catheter varies over its length from a minimum at the proximal end to a maximum at the distal end.
Abstract: Disclosed is a battery casing comprising a diametrical can, a recoverable sealing ring, sealing material and a central member. The diametrical can has a flange portion which defines a can opening to be sealed. The can opening is filled by insertion of the central member and sealing material into the can opening. The recoverable sealing ring, which surrounds the flange portion, applies a compressive force so as to decrease the space between the flange portion, sealing material and central member and seal the can opening.
Abstract: There is disclosed an anhydrous primary battery. The battery comprises an anode, an inorganic liquid electrolyte and a cathode. The electrolyte comprises an electrolyte salt in a solvent consisting of oxyhalides or thiohalides. The cathode is a substantially pure material selected from the group of materials consisting of polyacetylene, polypyrrole, polyparaphenylene, polyparaphenylenesulfide, and their derivatives.
