  • Patent number: 8229709
Abstract: A signal x is reconstructed by measuring the signal x as a vector y of measurements yi, wherein the measurements yi are distorted, and each measurement yi has an associated value. The measurements yi in the vector y are ordered according to the associated values, wherein each sorted measurement has an index corresponding to the ordering to form an ordered index sequence. Then, a reconstruction method is applied to the ordered index sequence to produce an estimate {circumflex over (X)} of the signal x.

  • Patent number: 7685115
Abstract: A computer implemented method classifies securely a private query sample using exact k-nn classification. A secure dot product protocol is applied to determine securely distances between a private query sample and a plurality of private labeled samples. A secure k-rank protocol is applied to the distances to determine a nearest distance of a kth nearest labeled sample having a particular label. Then, a secure Parzen protocol is applied to the nearest distance to label the private query sample according to the particular label.

  • Patent number: 7672834
Abstract: A method detects components of a non-stationary signal. The non-stationary signal is acquired and a non-negative matrix of the non-stationary signal is constructed. The matrix includes columns representing features of the non-stationary signal at different instances in time. The non-negative matrix is factored into characteristic profiles and temporal profiles.

  • Patent number: 7672289
Abstract: A method allocates and assigns addresses to nodes in an ad hoc wireless network. A set of potential addresses of nodes in an ad hoc wireless network are defined as having N fields, in which the number of bits in each field is one or more bits. A subset of the set addresses is allocated initially as addresses to be assigned to nodes joining the network, in which each address has N-K fields, where 0<K<N. The size of the subset of addresses is increased adaptively by increasing the number of fields in each address in the subset.

  • Patent number: 7671786
Abstract: A moving object is classified by transmitting, by a linear array of transmit antenna elements, a microwave into a surveillance area. A scattered microwave backprojected from a moving object is received by a linear array of receive antenna elements. Features are extracted from the scattered microwave related to a spiral evolution of the scattered microwave. The moving object is then classified as one of a set of possible classes according to the extracted features, and an alarm signal can be generated indicating the selected class.

  • Patent number: 7526036
Abstract: A method transmits and receives signals in a cooperative, multi-user, multi-input, multi-output network. The network includes base stations (BSs) and mobile stations (MSs). Each BS has at least two antennas, and each MS has at least one antenna. At a first base station and a second base station using linear pre-coding matrices, a plurality of data streams are jointly pre-coded to produce first signals and second signals. The first signals are transmitted synchronously from the first BS and the second BS to a first MS, and the second signals are transmitted synchronously from the first BS and the second BS to a second MS, and in the first signal and the second signal are asynchronous with respect each other.
