Abstract: Methods and systems for estimating single or multi-colored toner coverage on a printed page. One method includes generating color plane bitmaps corresponding to each color in a contone bitmap and calculating pixel coverage values for each of the color plane contone bitmaps. Another method includes receiving image data to be printed, generating color separations for the image data corresponding to available toner colors, printing each color separation on a printed page, scanning each printed page comprising the color separation and calculating toner coverage on each of the scanned printed pages.

Abstract: An apparatus for connecting a printer to a cellular radio system. The adapter allows the printer to conduct facsimile operations. The adapter has a facsimile module which includes executable instructions for decoding fax data and processing the fax data to generate print data for printing; a cell radio; one or more communication ports having at least one of the communication ports in communication with the printer; and a data encoder in communication with the facsimile module and the cell radio. The data encoder is configured to convert data transmitted between the facsimile module and the cell radio.

Abstract: Methods and a photoprinter are provided for performing more efficient data management on digital photographic images residing on a photoprinter. Alterations to the digital photographic image are processed at a first resolution while insertions of text and graphics onto the digital photographic image are processed at a second resolution.

Abstract: A stand-alone printer is provided having a first drive for receiving a first computer readable medium, wherein the first computer readable medium is capable of storing at least one digital representation of an image captured by a digital device and wherein the first computer readable medium is adapted to interface with the digital device. The stand-alone printer also includes a printing member for producing on a substrate a pattern associated with the digital representation of the image captured by the digital device and a port for transmitting data to and from the printer, wherein the printer is adapted to interface with a second drive through the port.

Abstract: A wet rub resistant ink composition comprises, by weight, at least about 15% carrier medium, colorant in an amount of no more than about 20%, and at least about 2% polymeric capsules having central cavities containing water. The composition is substantially free of film-forming resins. The ink composition may be used in combination with other ink compositions having different colors or shades to increase the color gamut of an ink system.

The additive is selected from the group consisting of first dispersants synthesized from an aromatic mercaptan, a hydrophilic monomer, a hydrophobic polymeric reactant having a siloxyl substituent and a first stabilizing reactant; second dispersants synthesized from a non-aromatic mercaptan, a hydrophilic monomer, a hydrophobic polymeric reactant having a siloxyl substituent, and a second stabilizing reactant selected from the group consisting of nonylphenoxy (PEG)4-6 methacrylate, nonylphenoxy (PPG)4-6 methacrylate, nonylphenoxy (PEG)4 6 acrylate, nonylphenoxy (PPG)4-6 acrylate and mixtures thereof; humectant mixtures comprising a bis-hydroxy terminated thioether, a lactam, and a compound selected from the group consisting of polyalkylene glycols, polyol/alkylene oxide condensates and mixtures thereof; and mixtures thereof.
