  • Patent number: 6770121
Abstract: The separator has a vane assembly made up of a number of corrugated vanes that are oriented with respect to each other so as to provide serpentine paths for the gas stream therethrough. As the gas stream flows through the serpentine paths, it changes direction and liquid in the gas stream impacts the surfaces of the vanes. The upstream section of the vane assembly has roughened surfaces to decrease the surface tension of the liquid, thereby causing the liquid to coalesce. The downstream section of the vane assembly has smooth surfaces so as to increase the surface tension of the liquid. Thus, the coalesced liquid flows from the roughened surfaces to the smooth surfaces where the liquid forms beads and drains by gravity.

  • Patent number: 6758218
Abstract: The apparatus includes a fluid suspended, inner member, which has printed upon it a series of position bull's eyes, which are connected by a path printed on the inner member. The inner member is contained within a transparent, watertight outer housing, which has a sighting marking printed upon it. The device is attached to the user's head in a manner such that when the user moves his head, the outer member can move relative to the inner member. This allows the user to follow the path to visually track his correct head position through the posterior canalith repositioning maneuver sequence. Also attached to the user apparatus is an assistant apparatus which includes a hollow ball containing a liquid sufficient to form a small bubble which allows an assistant to follow a second path which corresponds to that seen by the user when he follows the user path.

  • Patent number: 6755152
Abstract: There is provided an apparatus and method for monitoring pulsation of a milking system in a dairy facility. The milking system includes vacuum hoses that extend from a vacuum source to a milking claw. The pressure in each vacuum hose is changed by a pulsator, with the vacuum hoses being out of phase with one another. The pressure sensors are coupled to the respective vacuum hoses, which sensors monitor the pressure pulsations to ensure that the pulsator is operating satisfactorily. The pressure sensors are coupled to the vacuum hoses by way of passageways or hoses. A bypass is provided between the passageways so as to provide air circulation in the otherwise dead air space in these passageways. The bypass is small so as to not interfere with the pressure measurements by the sensors and is located in close proximity to the pressure sensors so as to minimize the amount of dead air space.

  • Patent number: 6715876
Abstract: A lens arrangement has a corrective or prescription lens. The prescription lens is adjacent to a fluid cell. The fluid cell has a flexible membrane and a base. Fluid is pumped into or out of the fluid cell in order to vary the corrective power of the entire lens arrangement. The prescription lens is coupled to the base so as to pivotally couple an edge portion of the flexible membrane therebetween and to allow the edge portion to flex with minimum distortion. The prescription lens, which may have a cylindrical surface, is rotatably coupled to the base to allow the cylinder axis to be adjusted to a proper position. The prescription lens is removably coupled to the base to allow the lens to be exchanged for a lens with a different corrective power.
