Patent number: 4778305Abstract: A slip-form paver is provided which is capable of paving a lane of concrete or other material in much the same manner that asphalt is spread as a top paving surface for a roadway. Spreading and levelling means are not restricted to the space between the traction members of the tractor portion of the machine, but are arranged behind such members so that the slab may be wider than, or offset, with respect to the distance between such traction members. The mounting of the final paving tool is capable of lateral movement independently of the steering of the tractor members so as to enable it to turn on a different radius. The elevation of this tool may also be controlled from a string line or the like so as to provide the desired pavement surface contour.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1987Date of Patent: October 18, 1988Assignee: Rexworks Inc.Inventors: Paul E. Patent number: 4773796Abstract: A plenum chamber for an air slide conveyer is provided with two air chambers one within the other. The inner chamber communicates with a medial strip of the membrane which separates the chambers from the rest of the duct through which the material passes when fluidized by air from the plenum chamber. The central air duct also serves to support the membrane which is drawn over it and then clamped between the two halves of the duct. The supply of air to either the outer or inner chamber may be separately shut off. The lower half may be removed as a unit for repair or replacement of the membrane. A novel seal is provided for preventing the edges of the membrane from becoming wet and acting as a wick to moisten and clog the central portions of the membrane.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1982Date of Patent: September 27, 1988Inventor: Robert W. Patent number: 4753533Abstract: A volumetric batcher is combined with a batch mixer so that similiar batches of powdered fluidizable material such as fly ash can be mixed with constant quantities of water resulting in mixtures having the same moisture. This enables their disposal at a land fill site or the like. To insure that the material in the batcher is settled to the desired degree before the inlet valve is closed, a high level indicator is provided which jogs the inlet valve to retard the rate of flow and this valve is allowed to continue to jog until a short period of time has elapsed during which the high level probe is constantly under the influence of the fly ash, at which time it is completely closed. Additional means are provided for insuring complete discharge from the batcher, measuring and timing the flow of water and removing air from the mixer and batcher during charging operations.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1985Date of Patent: June 28, 1988Assignee: Mixer Systems, Inc.Inventor: Robert W. Patent number: 4655323Abstract: An elevator, especially an oblique elevator, has a plurality of telescopic sections, along which a load container is movable. The telescoping of the sections takes place in such a manner that all the telescopic sections move simultaneously in relation to one another, or in such a manner that, as a given telescopic section extends, it takes with it all those arranged after it, as a "pack". For the purpose of locking in any desired position of extension a locking/unlocking device is provided between each pair of adjacent telescopic sections. This locking is effected by the actuation of a draw cable attached to the lowermost telescopic section, the draw cable acting upon an actuating cable which effects the locking or unlocking. The actuating cable runs in tackle block manner around two cable guides, and is shortened or lengthened by the variation of spacing of two cable guides.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 1986Date of Patent: April 7, 1987Assignee: GmbH & Co. KG Albert BockerInventor: Albert Bocker

Patent number: 4640387Abstract: The invention relates to a locking device between two relatively movable telescopic sections of an elevator such as a scaffolding or load hoist. The individual telescopic sections are locked together by a locking dog. The locking system can be arranged to snap in automatically, and to be released by cable actuation, or vice versa. The locking dog is actuated by a draw cable which controls a locking/release cable. The cable stretch of the draw cable is compensated by a tackle block reversal thereof, that is to say a substantially greater shortening takes place (with reduced force application) in the draw cable compared with the locking/release cable. Thus, a mechanical advantage is obtained not only within the draw cable itself, but also between the draw cable and the locking/release cable.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1985Date of Patent: February 3, 1987Assignee: Firma Albert Bocker GmbH & Co. Kg.Inventor: Albert Bocker

Patent number: 4550806Abstract: An elevating apparatus comprises an inclined elevator and a load-carrying carriage. The inclined elevator comprises a pair of guide rails, and the carriage is movable along the guide rails by means of a cable. The carriage is movable along the guide rails on rollers provided on rocker arms pivotally mounted on the carriage. The upper portion of each guide rail is angled away from the remaining portion of that guide rail, the upper portions of the guide rails defining a horizontal section of the elevator which constitutes a discharge position for the carriage.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1983Date of Patent: November 5, 1985Assignee: Albert Bocker GmbH & Co. KGInventor: Albert Bocker

Patent number: 4506984Abstract: The pan type mixing machine has vertical concentric annular walls between which material to be mixed is confined while paddles hung from a central revolving spindle churn such material. The transmission is supported on a ledge extending inwardly from the inner wall of the mixing space. The transmission is driven by a motor arranged outside the outer wall on frame members extending under the mixer, the frame members protecting the drive between the motor and the transmission. A novel seal is provided between the rotating spindle and the inner wall of the mixing chamber along with multiple means for adjusting the mixing paddles and protecting the arms that support them. The cover extending over the mixer space provides means for introducing liquid and also serves to reinforce the walls of the mixer when the latter is being lifted or lowered by a sling.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 1983Date of Patent: March 26, 1985Assignee: Mixer Systems, Inc.Inventor: Robert W. Patent number: 4491196Abstract: A telescopic beam for use in an inclined hoist has five telescopic members. An actuator comprising a motorized winch and a block and tackle arrangement is provided for extending the telescopic members relative to one another. The block and tackle arrangement includes a cable which passes several times around sets of rollers positioned at the adjacent ends of first and second of the telescopic members. A lock is provided for fixing the positions of the first and second telescopic members. To relieve the operator of the need for controlling several actuators, the single actuator is used to control the extension of all the telescopic members, and to control the angle of inclination of the last telescopic member relative to the penultimate telescopic member. For this purpose, the cable is passed from the second telescopic member to the far end of the penultimate telescopic member, and then to the adjacent end of the last telescopic member where it is secured.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1982Date of Patent: January 1, 1985Assignee: Albert Bocker GmbH & Co. Patent number: 4462520Abstract: A skirt assembly and swinging gate are both pivotally mounted on a bin hopper. The gate carries a cam which engages a follower on the skirt assembly. When the gate is closed, a notch in the cam face lifts the follower arm and the skirting assembly to its most elevated position. The final lifting action occurs while the gate is over-travelling its effective closed position. When it is desired to open the gate, the cam action is reversed until the skirt reaches sealing position; further engagements of the skirt assembly on the belt is prevented by a stop on the skirt which engages the hopper and operates with the cam face to lock the skirt in the exact position desired. It is held in this position during subsequent gate opening and regardless of the degree to which the gate is opened.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 1982Date of Patent: July 31, 1984Inventor: Robert W.
