Abstract: Method and apparatus for an aerosol chamber having an input opening and an output opening with back pressure created in the chamber by an apertured barrier, such as a disk having a plurality of concentric and circumferentially disposed sets of openings to reduce the size of particles applied at the input opening before leaving the output opening, which is of lesser diameter than the input opening and extends to the input opening by an arcuate surface of revolution that serves to redirect interiorally of the chamber aerosol particles that have entered the chamber and reached the surface of revolution.
Abstract: This invention relates to the leveling of devices, and more particularly, to the leveling of leg supported devices, such as pool and billiard tables. In accomplishing the foregoing and related objects, the invention provides a scissors mechanism overlying a special base and underlying a special rubber-padded saddle.
Abstract: Tone production by a vibratable reed having a plurality of separated edges disposed in a slot extending between opposed surfaces, with the edges conjoined beyond one end of the slot and extending into and above the opposed end of the slot allowing vibration during bi-directional air flow and alterations in timbre.
Abstract: A valve adapted to actuators with various tolerances by having a flexible axial wall extend inwardly from an input of a housing containing a plurality of stationary and longitudinally extending ribs and by having the flexible axial wall surroundingly engage each inserted actuator, regardless of tolerance variations.
Abstract: A horizontal arm is cantilevered from a lock position location so that a ball is suspended by a line from the free end of the arm. The line extends through the arm and exits at the lock position location so that the height of the ball can be adjusted by controlling an appropriate length of line. The arm is designed to allow the ball to drop free when its momentum is spent without the line becoming wrapped around the arm. The lock position location includes a position locator that extends from the arm and has a polygonal cross-section. The position locator is received by a complementary lock position receptor in the form of a recess with a polygonal cross-section that complements the cross-section of the lock projection. The attachment permits the ready dismantlement of the arm for storage or transport to another location, while simultaneously providing against inadvertent rotation of the arm during ball handling or ball hitting practice. It also permits easy adaptation to different sports--e.g.
Abstract: A flow control device with an inlet for fluid and a slit movable member having an oval shape before sealing the inlet at a cam interface and closing the slit. The unsealing of the inlet and the opening of the slit permits the passage of fluid therethrough. The movable member extends by a channel, which can be open or closed, between the inlet and an outlet and has a portion which is expandable laterally. A member external to the flow control device, such as the tip of a Luer taper, can activate the moveable member by depressing it to open the slit and allow the flow of fluid.
Abstract: Apparatus formed by a housing having an inlet and an inwardly biased and circumferentially open flexible seal depending from the inlet to engage and seal a fitting as it enters the inlet. A stationary probe within the housing extends axially from an outlet to the inlet, with the probe having a passageway thereinto connected to the outlet and the input is sealed when there is a reflux of fluid into the outlet.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for the anchoring of a floating object by an elongated shank having an attached fluke that extends along the vicinity of the shank, with an edge of the fluke extending to a tip from a constraint movably mounted on the shank, with the fluke apertured and proportioned to limit fouling by a rode attached to the shank and facilitate attachment for storage.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for molding an article by forming an oversized mold cavity with respect to opposing relatively movable mold members, introducing material into the oversized mold cavity and applying force to the mold members to reduce the volume of the cavity and compress the material simultaneously with its introduction into the mold cavity. The result is simultaneous injection and compression of material by contrast with the prior art of simultaneous injection and volume reduction, where compression does not take place until after injection has been completed.
Abstract: A three-point harness for suspending a musical instrument, such as a guitar, about the body of a musician, with a first connector for attaching the harness to one attachment point on the instrument, a second connector for attaching the harness to another attachment point on the instrument, and a third connector between the first and second connectors, attached to the instrument for limiting the extent to which the instrument can be displaced from the harness.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for forming an article having a prescribed volume and mass from a molten plasticized resin using an injection molding machine by (a) forming an oversized mold cavity with respect to an opposing pair of relatively movable mold members between which the article is formed; (b) injecting into the oversized mold cavity a volume of plasticized resin exceeding the prescribed volume of the article and having a mass at least equal to the prescribed mass of the article; (c) applying force to the mold members to reduce the volume of the cavity and pressurize the plasticized resin therein simultaneously with the injection of resin.
Abstract: Apparatus and method wherein a housing with an outlet has a cap with an inlet and is affixed to the housing with a flexible flange that depends from the inlet of the cap to engage and circumferentially seal a fitting as it enters the inlet, the housing containing an interior seat for a flexible plug that extends within the housing to the cap for circumferentially sealing the inlet at the flexible flange, with the plug expanding from a circular to an elliptical cross section by the insertion of a Luer fitment into the inlet of the cap to a stop position within the housing, and the plug having an interior passageway extending from an open end to a head with a slit extending therethrough at the inlet.
Abstract: Apparatus for facilitating the brushing of surfaces wherein an elongated support member has a longitudinally-extending channel in one surface and a aperture therethrough; a transverse channel intersects the longitudinally-extending channel and extends across the apertures; and a brush is positioned in one of the transverse channels, or in the longitudinally-extending channel.
Abstract: A device which indicates a change in the angular position of a golfer's hand during a backswing. The device includes a continuous rod having parallel segments detachably mounted to a wrist encircling support, and the rod is bent to form an arcuate portion extending of an angle with respect to the parallel segments. When the golfer's hand engages the arcuate portion, the commencement of a downstroke is indicated.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for the centering of objects by positioning a slider that is not only movable within a base but also moveable therebeyond in opposite directions in relation to stop members for holding an object at a centering position where a projection extending from the slider is used to mark the center with reference to markings along the base at the slider and on the stop members.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for displaying information by providing a flat-panel display module with display information, separating the flat-panel display module from information source and locating the module, without being inverted, at a specified position physically displaced from the source. The separated display module can be operated with or without connection to the source, and the module can be transported away from the source to provide a portable data store which can be accessed independently of the source. The module can be back-lighted and positioned alongside a keyboard of the source, and the separated display can be operated simultaneously with another flat-panel display.
