Abstract: A method for an intaglio botanic ornamental transparency comprising the steps of laminating a botanic assemblage between a transparent, deformable cover layer and a fibrous, opaque backing layer, intaglioing completely all backing layer material facing the botanic assemblage, intaglioing partially a narrow optically diffuse auroral boundary zone of backing layer material circumferential to the periphery of the botanic assemblage, abutting thereto, the backing material residue providing a translucent auroral property to the concomitant transparent cover layer.
Abstract: A pressure compensated sound transducer is provided wherein compensation and equalization of static ambient pressure variations occurring on the faces of at least one piezoelectric element is achieved by a mensural compensating duct communicating compensating fluid between two reservoirs, each located on an opposite face of a piezoelectric element. One reservoir is formed in the void of the support housing containing at least one piezoelectric element; the remaining reservoir is formed in the void between the housing and a sealed impermeable, compliant boot. The sealed boot prevents contamination of the compensating fluid from the external environment and loss of the compensating fluid to the outside environment.
Abstract: A motor driven sunshield for permanent installation within the interior of an automotive vehicle, securely attached to the roof of the vehicle between the roof interior surface and the interior roof lining. Operable in either manual or semi-automatic mode, the sunshield can be deployed while the vehicle transmission is in PARK mode to cover the windshield of the vehicle for preventing potentially damaging solar radiation from entering the interior of the vehicle through the windshield. Conversely when the transmission is in RUN mode, i.e. drive, reverse, or neutral, the sunshield is automatically retracted to provide unobstructed views for the driver. When fabricated from a suitably tough material and the electrical control circuitry configured to permit a secure locked condition, the deployed sunshield can also offer a deterrent to unauthorized operation of the vehicle.
Abstract: A portable pet barrier for temporary installation in an automotive vehicle, the vehicle having seating arrangements which feature removable headrests. The barrier is intended to restrict the movement of medium to large sized pets, for example, dogs, to portions of the vehicle not occupied by the driver or passengers. Typically, the barrier is installed across the backrest of the rear seating of a sport utility vehicle (SUV), minivan, or station wagon to confine the pet to the rear luggage/cargo portion of the vehicle. Without using tools or making threaded adjustments, installation of the barrier entails the engagement of two or more slidable bolts with coaxially aligned headrest sockets, the sockets becoming available for use after removal of the headrests. Inserted into headrest sockets and frictionally in contact with the resilient, compliant obstructive panel of the barrier, the bolts fasten and maintain position of the barrier across the top of the vehicle backrest.
