Patent number: 4027620Abstract: An instrument panel is provided having a plurality of band indicators, one for each parameter being measured, arranged consecutively adjacent one another in a common direction on the panel, all displaying an output indication by movements of their respective bands in the same direction transversely of the alignment direction. The bands of each instrument also move adjacent a color coded marker, indicating a safe operating region for the parameter being measured, a "caution" region, and one where the measured parameter is beyond acceptable values. The instruments are calibrated and initially located to give readings about a single threshold line or band such that when the eyes are directed toward this mean, not only can the individual readings of each of the instruments be quickly determined, but also a relative or comparative reading of all the instruments may be readily made.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 1976Date of Patent: June 7, 1977Inventor: Lawrence J. Patent number: 4008984Abstract: Flexible diaphragms mounted on the ends of a shaft contact a liquid to be dispensed (e.g., syrup bases). A chamber is located about the shaft side of each diaphragm, which chamber is in communication via shaft passages with outlets in the shaft wall. A valving member is slidingly received on the shaft and interconnected with a source of pressurized gas by a flexible hose. The valving members transfers from a position where one opening is in communication with the pressurized gas and the other opening is exposed, to a second position where the relationship of the shaft openings to the valving member is reversed. A pair of opposed coil openings urge the valving member past the longitudinal shaft center to reverse direction after the coils are sufficiently loaded, which results when the valving member is at the end of either shaft stroke.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1975Date of Patent: February 22, 1977Inventor: William R. Patent number: 4007542Abstract: A straightedge having incremental markings along two opposite edges, the spacing of the markings being progressively decreased toward a theoretical vanishing point to provide a perspective scale. The straightedge has a rigid spine, with two edge members of transparent material on which the graduations are marked. The edge members are offset toward opposite faces of the spine, so that when one member is held flat on a work surface, the other member is raised above the surface, allowing the raised edge to be used to guide or support a pen, brush, or the like without the ink or other fluid marking material running under the edge. The raised edge may be rocked into contact with the work surface and the upper edge serving as a guide or support. In a further manner of use, the straightedge facilitates rapid basic layout of a perspective drawing, such as an architectural rendering.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 1975Date of Patent: February 15, 1977Inventor: Fred R. Patent number: 3980884Abstract: A representative reading for the concentration of a suspension of luminous and magnetizable particles is provided in every case, even when luminous but non-magnetizable particles are also present. That is, the presence of non-magnetizable luminous particles in the suspension have no effect on the determination. A rotating wheel-like member has its lowermost portions immersed in a supply of the magnetic particle suspension in a fluid carrier. The circumferential periphery includes a permanent magnet having a gap extending continuously around the periphery and covered over by a plastic rim. As the wheel-like member rotates, the magnetic particle suspension forms a bead along the magnet gap. Ultra violet radiation directed onto the bead causes the magnetic particles to fluoresce and the degree of fluorescence is measured by photosensitive means.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 1975Date of Patent: September 14, 1976Assignee: Institut Dr. Friedrich Forster, PrufgeratebauInventor: Hans Link

Patent number: 3977501Abstract: The luggage case construction has a first open sided shell over which a cover is removably secured. The shell includes bottom, top and two end walls interconnected by a rectangular back wall. An elongated frame member extends continuously along the inner top wall surface, both end walls and for a distance inwardly of the end walls onto the bottom wall. The frame is centrally located within the shell and includes a pair of parallel rib-like elements integrally related by a wall portion via which it is riveted to the luggage case shell. At each of the corners of the luggage case sheel and in the central portion immediately under the handle of the top wall there are provided sheet-like elements between the channel and the luggage case walls. The sheet-like members extend transversely of the luggage case an amount equal to the total case width, such that when the cover is closed over the shell and the secured in place, the sheet-like member establishes a firm case width.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 1974Date of Patent: August 31, 1976Assignee: Samsonite CorporationInventor: Juan Perez Alonso

Patent number: 3950562Abstract: In reclaiming nutrients from manure, steps are taken to remove both insoluble and soluble ash components, thereby preventing their buildup to possibly dangerous levels when the reclaimed nutrients are used as recycled feed. After initial milling of the manure to a predetermined size, it is mixed with water or reflux brine to form a slurry. The manure-water slurry is released onto an inclined belt having a riffled surface moving in an upward direction while the slurry stream moves along a gravity path opposite the belt movement. The belt discharges ash at its upward side along with a small amount of fibers, feed mix, kernels, grains, and other organic matter. In this manner a major part of the undesirable inorganic, insoluble ash and a small amount of nutrient materials are removed from the manure. Alternatively, a centrifugal bowl classifier, an oscillating or pulsating jig screen, or preferably a shaking or concentrating table with riffles may be used.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1973Date of Patent: April 13, 1976Assignee: Feed Recycling Co.Inventor: Franklin C.
