Patent number: 6477998Abstract: A cam actuated continuous simultaneously variable valve timing and lifting assembly for selectively operating the valve of an internal combustion engine. The valve is actuated by a cam on a camshaft driven by a crankshaft. The cam is in operative engagement with a slider. The slider is selectively movable by a slider actuator within a rocker arm. The slider actuator is selectively extended and retracted by a first motor drive unit. A computer controller operatively controls the motor drive unit to selectively and simultaneously vary the timing and lifting of the valve. A modification of the invention is provided with a second motor drive unit provided with a downwardly extending hexagonal transfer shaft drive assembly having a downwardly extending spherical ball which operatively engages a rocker arm assembly provided with a slider thereon to accommodate the movement of the slider as needed.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2002Date of Patent: November 12, 2002Inventor: Chinh T. Nguyen

Patent number: 6155369Abstract: An electric bicycle assembly provided with a lightweight, high performance DC electric motor and a tuned centrifugal slip clutch assembly in combination therewith. This bicycle assembly includes a two-stage start-run electric control circuitry which prevents high motor zero rpm in-rush currents which may damage the motor. Another embodiment of this invention utilizes a variable ratio V-belt drive assembly having a centrifugal clutch capability so as to engage and disengage at a predetermined RPM. Another embodiment of this invention is provided with a front wheel mounted regenerating wheel rotor assembly which is adapted to recharge batteries as needed. Another embodiment of this invention utilizes a mechanically actuated multi-stage power control switch so as to selectively provide a start circuit and two or more power control levels in the operational use thereof.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1998Date of Patent: December 5, 2000Inventor: Ronald W. Patent number: 4657132Abstract: A waist mountable cartridge holder assembly comprising a cartridge case having integrally formed base, foldable hinge and cover portions. A cartridge holder track support member is provided on the base portion so as to snap clampably supportably engage a plurality of individual cartridges in transversely oriented spaced-apart longitudinally aligned fixed positions above the base portion so as to enable finger access between the base and the individual cartridges so as to facilitate direct unloading of individual cartridges therefrom. The case cover portion is selectively foldable onto the base portion so as to cover the cartridge holder track support member and cartridges supported thereon. A snap tab lock is provided to extend from the base portion to lockably engage the cover portion in its closed position.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1984Date of Patent: April 14, 1987Inventor: Saide Abdo

Patent number: 4614343Abstract: A golf swing training device comprising an elongate golf club shaft provided with a golf club hand grip at the upper end thereof and a weighted mechanical head assembly fixedly connected to the lower end thereof. The shaft is connected to the mechanical head assembly by an improved connector assembly. The mechanical head assembly comprises a spring biased weighted cartridge member positioned within a barrel housing and provided with snap ring-engaging fingers extending outwardly through slots provided in the barrel housing. The barrel housing is provided with an adjustable head closure member at the lower end thereof which is adapted to selectively increase or decrease tension of the cartridge-engaging main spring contained in the barrel housing. A cartridge-engaging main spring is positioned within the barrel housing by use of upper and lower locator bearings.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 1985Date of Patent: September 30, 1986Assignee: Snapper, Inc.Inventor: Ronald F. Radway

Patent number: 4594785Abstract: A disc brake caliper piston diagnostic gauge for the in situ testing and monitoring of a caliper piston which consists of a dial gauge having an externally threaded probe stem housing which extends outwardly therefrom into close proximity to a caliper piston when the gauge is in its operative position on a caliper housing. An anchor plate is threadably mounted upon the stem housing so as to be in abutting engagement with the inside surface of the outboard caliper housing when the gauge is in its operative position upon a caliper housing. A bias spring assembly is provided in threadable engagement with the stem housing so as to be adapted for selective operative engagement with a caliper piston. A contact indicator probe is provided which extends from the dial gauge through the stem housing member into operative engagement with the caliper piston so as to monitor the movement of the caliper piston and to translate the movement of the caliper piston into a visual indication on the dial gauge.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1985Date of Patent: June 17, 1986Inventor: Herman L. Carlson

Patent number: 4531562Abstract: An interior window cover assembly is provided for selective insulating sealable closure of a window opening so as to prevent air infiltration and reduce heat transfer therethrough. The window cover assembly is provided with a pair of vertically oriented spaced-apart track assemblies adapted for opposed sealable engagement with the vertical sides of a window frame. A horizontally oriented spring-actuated window cover roller assembly is pivotally mounted across the top of a window frame in abutting engagement with the upper ends of the track assemblies. A flexible insulating window cover member having a sill closure bar across the bottom thereof is selectively extendable downwardly from the window cover roller assembly so as to cover the window opening. The vertical edge portions of the flexible cover member extend into grooves provided in the track assemblies and are movable therealong as the sill closure bar is moved downwardly to draw the window cover member over the window opening.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1981Date of Patent: July 30, 1985Assignee: Chemstyle, Inc.Inventor: C.
