  • Patent number: 8277712
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for spinning fibers, or fiberizers, using a rotary fiber-making die system made up of thin plates, embodied by a housing fixture, configured and stacked to define slots, channels and/or grooves through which the material used to make the fibers will flow. The die system allows for the production of different size and types of fibers, including nanofibers having a diameter of less than 1 micron, and facilitates a variety of cost effective methods for extrusion. The use of plates means the dies can be manufactured cost effectively, with easier clean-outs, replacements and/or variations.

  • Patent number: 8188183
Abstract: Coating compositions are provided which may be applied from aqueous systems and contain binders which are autoxidisable to produce rapid drying hard coatings, preferred binders are based on polymers derived from monomers obtained by the reaction of drying oil fatty acids and unsaturated monomers. The polymers contain microgels, have low Tg and contain residual unsaturation; preferred copolymers also contain amide groups. The drying of the coating compositions can be accelerated by the use of metal dryers and have been found to enable the use of particularly low levels of vanadium dryers.

  • Patent number: 8127880
Abstract: According to the present invention mechanical system for tilting cab of a vehicle, the rotational motion of the detachable handle (12) is transmitted to the worm shaft (14) through the engaging clip (15). The worm shaft (14) rotates the worm (11) which in turn rotates the nut (10). The nut (10) being restrained for translational motion, pushes the screw (9) upward. The screw (9) gets a translational motion and is raised. The clevis joint (8) on the top of the screw (9) forces the link arm (7) upwards. The link arm (7) also rotates about the clevis joint (8) due to the revolute joint. The link arm (7) transmits this motion through the bush (13) and the bush bracket (6) to the suspension bracket (3) of the cab (1). As a result the cab (1) tilts about its transverse axis (5).

Abstract: A modular container for storing and dispensing liquids which has a body, an upper protecting wall, a lower protecting wall, at least one connector port with a valve, preferably a second connector port attached to a tube that extends upwards into the interior of the body, and a level indicator. The first and second connector ports are attached to the bottom of the body and incorporate a connector and are connected through an opening in the lower protecting wall. The lower protecting walls of the container are such that they have the ability to nest within the upper protecting walls of additional containers, thus allowing two or more containers to be stacked one on top of another. The second connector port which is attached to the tube extending into the interior of the body can be used for the purpose of venting the interior of the body and for cleaning the inside of the container without the necessity of moving or transporting the container.

  • Patent number: 6083422
Abstract: The present invention relates to thickened aqueous bleach compositions containing either an alkali metal hypohalite or peroxygen bleach. Compositions containing hypohalite or peroxygen bleaches are particularly difficult to thicken with sufficient stability for commercial value. The addition of a rheology stabilizer minimizes the loss of stability over time and enables compositions of varying bleach and pH level to be obtained. These compositions comprise an alkali metal hypohalite or peroxygen bleach, a polymeric rheology modifying agent, an effective amount of a rheology stabilizing agent, sufficient alkalinity buffering agent, with the remainder being water.

  • Patent number: 6020438
Abstract: An emulsion polymer comprising as one of its components a graft copolymer of a residual aromatic monomer-free support resin polymer and a vinyl chloride (co)polymer is disclosed. The emulsion polymer is prepared using a two-stage process. In the first stage, a chasing monomer is reacted in the presence of a support resin polymer having at least one aromatic monomer to form an polymer which is free of residual monomer and has monomeric units derived from the aromatic monomer(s). In a second stage, the vinyl chloride emulsion (co)polymer is made in situ in a reaction mixture comprising the polymer which is free of residual monomer. An extensive grafting at the second stage yields a novel water dispersible graft copolymer containing both styrene and vinyl chloride.
