  • Patent number: 6367207
Abstract: The present invention relates to a friction resistance generator capable of always generating a stable frictional force even if the opposed surfaces of a rotary member and a passive member have a curved shape such as a circumferential surface or a spherical surface. In the present invention, when the rotary member is rotated in the predetermined direction while a load is applied to the passive member, the rollers supported rotatably on one of the rotary member and the passive member rotate while being in contact with the rotary member or the passive member, thereby generating a frictional force according to the load on the rollers. In this case, the rollers are installed rotatably on either one of the opposed surfaces of the rotary member and the passive member, and the rollers are arranged so as to be capable of coming into contact with the other of the opposed surfaces of the rotary member and the passive member.

  • Patent number: 6332306
Abstract: In a strapping apparatus for strapping goods with a band, which apparatus has a tensioning device which is operatively connected to a tensioning drive and is intended for tensioning the band, a welding device for sealing two layers of a band, and a plurality of rewinding locks for fixing the band on the strapping apparatus, highest possible efficiency is to be achieved. The invention proposes providing the welding device with a lever (91), on the one end of which an eccentric (94) which is operatively connected to a motor shaft acts for the purpose of transmitting an eccentric movement, with regard to the motor shaft of the closure device, to the lever (91), and to the other end of which a welding shoe (86) is coupled, the lever (91) being mounted pivotably at a bearing point (90), so that the movement of the eccentric results in an oscillating reciprocating movement of the welding shoe. As a result, it is possible to reduce the power loss occurring in the friction welding operation.

  • Patent number: 6329753
Abstract: The present invention relates to M-type microwave devices and is aimed to improve effectiveness of using a working surface of field-electron emitters, to improve their reliability while increasing stability of field emission and service life of the device. These objects are solved in the design of a M-type microwave device, comprising an anode encircling a cylindrical evacuated cavity and a cathode assembly disposed co-axially inside the anode, said cathode assembly comprising a cylindrical rod with its surfaces having elements in the form of planar (film) field-electron emitters and secondary-electron emitters that provide a primary and a secondary electron emission, respectively. In doing so, the normal to planar field-electron emitters is not parallel and makes therewith an angle of more than 0 degrees. An end-face of the field-electron emitter is protected by a tunnel-thin dielectric layer containing impurities of various materials and materials having a low work function.

  • Patent number: 6280563
Abstract: A plasma processor for a workpiece includes a coil for supplying an r.f. exciting field through a window to a plasma in a vacuum chamber. A powered non-magnetic metal member between the coil and plasma couples the field to the plasma. In first and second embodiments, the metal member is respectively (1) a plate abutting a face of the window inside the chamber and (2) a thin film on an interior face of the window. In a third embodiment, the plate and film are both used. All embodiments help to ignite the plasma. The second embodiment increases plasma stability and prevents window clouding by ionized plasma particles. Metal from the plate is sputtered as a deposit onto the workpiece. The third embodiment enables substantially simultaneous depositing and cleaning.

  • Patent number: 6167802
Abstract: A sliding frame press utilizing a single pressure generating actuator to simultaneously apply the same uniform load to opposite sides of a workpiece. Two posts integral to sliding frame part 2 are freely and movably supported at the upper surface and within a post guide part located at both sides of frame base 5. Pressure is exerted on pressure rod 7 by the force applied at actuator 6. When the pressure applied to pressure rod 7 by actuator 6 exceeds the free weight of sliding frame part 2, a reactive force generated from pressure rod 7 operates to raise sliding frame part 2, thus simultaneously applying a uniform load to opposing sides of the workpiece located between pressure rod 7 and the lower punch 9 operatively connected to the sliding frame part 2.
