Abstract: A tool for effecting the sealing or plugging of a hole in an object, such as a coolant passage in an injection molding die. The plug includes a flexible, hollow cylindrical sleeve and a core member longitudinally interengageable into the sleeve. The core member is slightly larger than the bore of the sleeve and when drawn into the sleeve expands it to fill the hole and secure the plug. The plug may be used either internally as a diverting plug or externally as a sealing plug. The inserting tool is designed to position the plug in the hole as desired, and to interengage the core member into the sleeve. The plug is inserted into the hole with the sleeve and core member separate. Then the sleeve is supported in position and the core is interengaged into the sleeve.
Abstract: A four-wheel human powered vehicle including a frame for supporting the operator of the cycle in a substantially recumbent position, rear wheels mounted on the sides of the frame, two arms mounted on the frame and extending forwardly and outwardly therefrom, and each mounting a front wheel, steering means connected to the front wheels and controllable by the operator, and a crank boom extending forwardly from the frame and supporting a crank mounting foot pedals, and a drive attached thereto for transferring the power to one of the rear wheels.
Abstract: A runner shearing apparatus which is mounted in the ejection half of a plastic injection molding die for the purpose of separating the part and the runner during the ejection cycle. A sleeve is mounted in the die so that a hole drilled in the upper lip of the sleeve becomes the runner gate. An ejector pin is mounted in the sleeve so that during the ejection of the finished part the gate area is sheared, and the runner falls separate from the part.
Abstract: A basketball backboard adjustment apparatus operable to vary the height of a basketball goal. A mounting standard, such as a post or the like, has a mounting assembly which in other than the present invention would normally mate with a mounting assembly of a basketball backboard. Disposed between these two mountings, the backboard adjuster includes a frame attached to one of the mountings, a track mounted on the frame and extending vertically, a carriage mounted on the track, an attachment assembly on the carriage engageable with the other mounting assembly, and a user controlled adjustment apparatus interconnecting the frame and the carriage for moving the carriage along the track as desired by the user for raising and lowering the basketball goal.
Abstract: A compactly folding sawhorse including a main beam and a pair of legs double pivoted thereto at each end thereof, and an assembly for aligning and securing the legs in their extended position forming a very stable and durable work platform.
Abstract: A chimney tool for cleaning the soot and creosote out of chimneys and stovepipes, including a pole, and on the end of the pole a bent-rod tool made of resilient material and having a lower shank attached to the end of the pole and mounting a scraper blade, an upper shank extending along the pole from the lower shank and also being attached to the pole at a distance from the end thereof, and a spring arm extending from the upper shank and mounting a roller wheel which engages the side of the chimney opposite from the scraper blade and biases the scraper blade against the inner wall of the chimney to scrape the soot and creosote therefrom, but having sufficient resilience to pass by obstructions in the chimney. The tool is moved up and down and simultaneously rotated to position the scraper blade successively around the circumference of the chimney.
Abstract: A folding bench/table combination including two spaced apart leg assemblies, each including a horizontal, forwardly extending seat support member, a seat leg pivoted to the rear end of the seat support member, a table leg pivoted midway along its length to the front end of the seat support member, a table support member pivoted to the top of the table leg, and an adjuster pivoted to the table support member and extending to the pivot point of the seat support member and the table leg, and being operable to be secured in a plurality of positions to orient the table top as a table, or as the back of a bench, or in conjunction with the entire assembly being operable to be folded flat for compact stacking and storage.
Abstract: A nut mill for cracking the shells of nuts to permit easy removal of the nut meats from the nuts, including a frame mounting a rotatable, substantially cylindrical, multi-sided breaker, and a cracking plate positioned in relation to the breaker to receive a nut therebetween, which, when the breaker is rotated, the nut is compressed and cracked. The cracking apparatus is mounted in a housing which includes a hopper for feeding whole nuts through the cracking apparatus, and a drawer bin for receiving the cracked nuts.

Abstract: A support for the ports of a blood bag for use in a centrifuge in order to keep the ports upright during centrifugation so that the ports will not trap blood cells which would later contaminate the blood plasma. The support includes a base positionable adjacent to the bottom of a centrifuge cup, an upstanding plate attached to the periphery of the base and extending up adjacent to the side of the cup, and hook means mounted on the top of the plate and extending over the cup for engagement by the port area of the blood bag.
