Abstract: A prosthesis in the form of a cage having opposed complimentary bearing surface assemblies. The bearing surface assemblies moveable towards and away from each other. The moving mechanism being part of the bearing surface assemblies. Each of the bearing surface assemblies having an outer bearing surface whereby movement of one bearing surface assembly in one direction will move the bearing surface assemblies away from each other and movement in the opposite direction will move the bearing surface assemblies towards each other.

Abstract: A system which includes a steering member that not only allows the operator to accomplish the steering of a vehicle, but also allows the operator to merely exert a force on the steering member to control the braking mechanism of a vehicle. The steering member, acting as a unitary device for controlling two of the principal operations of a vehicle, provides the operator with improved handling capabilities and does so without the operator needing to use his/her feet which makes the control system of the vehicle particularly suited for handicapped individuals.
Abstract: A ball-point pen comprising:
a. an ink reservoir,
b. a penpoint tip,
c. a writing ball rotationally disposed in and partially exposed from the penpoint tip,
d. an ink feed bore in fluid communication with the ink reservoir,
e. a ball chamber holding the writing ball and formed in fluid communication with the ink feed bore,
f. an annular seat formed in the chamber so as to support the writing ball, and
g. radial grooves formed in the annular seat,
characterized in that each of the radial grooves is of a width of more than 0.2 mm.
Abstract: A plasma discharge display device comprises a generally columnar chamber with a pair of electrodes tangentially located at opposite ends of the chamber for ionizing gas in the chamber. The columnar chamber comprises a cylindrical portion interconnected with a generally spherical portion. The configuration of the chamber generates an active (but not hyperactive) plasma discharge that is continuous, has a full motion and with minimal noise without the need of additional adulterants for instability.
Abstract: An oily ink for writing instruments comprising
e. colorant,
f. resin,
g. an organic solvent and
h. a gelling agent,
wherein the said gelling agent comprises a soluble gelling agent with the solubility of from about 0.1 to about 20% by weight at a temperature of 20° C. to the said organic solvent, and the viscosity of the ink is not less than 700 mPa·s when the rate of shear is 0.1 (1/s) and not greater than 500 mPa·s when the rate of shear is 100 (1/s).
Abstract: A chip synchronization composite code match filter and a frame synchronization composite code match filter are disclosed and respectively serve as the first and second stages of a mobile terminal which also has a third stage for providing a scrambling code identification function. These three stages complete the acquisition function for the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal is particularly suited for operational interaction in the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Standard. Both the chip synchronization and frame synchronization composite code match filters utilize the hierarchial structure of the Golay code in a manner so as to reduce the components needed to accomplish the chip and frame synchronization functions for the mobile terminal operating within the 3GPP standards.
