  • Patent number: 6811991
Abstract: A method of determining the concentration of a surfactant-based neutral cleaner in a wash liquor, a hand-held apparatus, and a test kit for carrying out the method are provided. According to the method, a cleaner composed of the cleaning agent, an amount of a reducing sugar that is proportional to the cleaning agent, and a sugar preserving agent, is added to a wash solution. The concentration of reducing sugar present in the wash solution may then subsequently be determined by infrared quantitative analysis to provide a concentration of reducing sugar correlative with the amount of cleaning agent remaining in the wash liquor. An apparatus suitable for carrying out infrared quantitative analysis can be packaged with associated test supplies and reagents in a test kit.

  • Patent number: 6809415
Abstract: A printed circuit board 1 providing superior adhesion between a substrate 2 and a conductor pattern 3 and preventing damage of the substrate 2. The width c of the bottom surface 310 of the conductor pattern 3 is greater than the width d of the top surface 320. Accordingly, the conductor pattern 3 has a trapezoidal cross-section. The two side surfaces 315 of a lower portion 31 of the conductor pattern 3 are coated by a solder resist. The two side surfaces 325 at the upper portion 32 of the conductor pattern 3 are exposed from the solder resist 4. A solder ball 6 engages the two side surfaces 325.

  • Patent number: 6802327
Abstract: Disclosed is a retractable portable shelter apparatus with an attachment apparatus for vehicles. The shelter apparatus includes a stationary frame, a plurality of pivotably rotatable frames, a collapsible canopy stretched over the rotatable frames, and an attachment member for attaching the apparatus to the vehicle. The vehicle attachment apparatus can be moved between at least two positions, the deployed, substantially enclosed housing position, and the substantially closed or collapsed position. The shelter apparatus may be used as an ice fishing shelter, a duck hunting blind, a tent, a camping shelter, a portable shower facility, a storage tent, a sun shade, a hunting rack for carrying hunted animals, a medical emergency shelter, or a tool carrier. In one embodiment the shelter apparatus includes a platform for supporting a user, and further includes a floor and wheels supporting the floor.

  • Patent number: 6780306
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for the disinfection of water and wastewater contaminated with bacteria and other microorganisms. The apparatus includes an electrolytic flow cell including electrodes forming a part of flow pipe or open channel through which water or wastewater passes. The electrodes are formed of iron, stainless steel, carbon or copper and connected to a power supply voltage in the range of 20 to 100 volts and establishing a current in the range of 1 to 6 amperes. Disinfection results from either metal ions impacting microbial cells or through the generation of hydrogen peroxide, hydroxyl radicals and hypochlorous acid. When the electrodes are copper, toxic metal contamination limits are established through proper design of the flow cell. An ultrasonic transducer is connected to the electrodes and enhances hydroxyl radical generation.

  • Patent number: 6773153
Abstract: A lightweight and compact headlamp adjuster is constructed primarily from plastic materials. The adjuster may include a VHAD that is non-recalibratable after the headlamp aim is factory set. The adjuster includes an input shaft that engages a gear located within a housing. When the input shaft is rotated, a ball stud moves linearly to adjust the headlamp to which it is connected. The adjuster is not subject to over-adjustment when it includes a clutching mechanism provided by the interaction of the ball stud with the gear.

  • Patent number: 6769379
Abstract: A collapsible hunting blind for use with a vehicle such as a boat has a framework and a cover, where the framework has several parts, including tree-shaped frames with several arms and a vertical post, crossbars, and a lid frame. Each tree-shaped frame is mounted to a crossbar coupled to the vehicle. The cover is attached to the framework and extends over the lid frame to form a lid. Persons traveling in the vehicle are thus concealed when the lid is closed. When the blind is collapsed, each arm folds against the vertical post and the entire tree-shaped frame folds to a side of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6758622
Abstract: A ball socket for connection with a ball stud resists accidental pull-out of the ball stud. The ball socket includes arms that form a socket cup for retaining the ball stud. The arms allow relatively easy insertion of the stud head, yet greatly resist accidental pull-out. The ball socket may be used in connection with disengageable or conventional ball studs. The ball socket may be an in-line design, peanut-style, or some other design. One known effective application of the present invention is in automotive lamp assemblies. The in-line socket may include a centrally located mounting hole and an undercut which forms a chamber for trapping the head of a mounting screw to facilitate assembly to the reflector.

  • Patent number: 6730251
Abstract: A method of using a multi-purpose processing apparatus for simultaneously performing an injection molding operation and a cutting/forming operation. The multi-purpose apparatus places a forming operation into unused space within the injection molding machine, thereby utilizing the already present injection molding clamping pressure to pressure form parts. The apparatus results in a method that combines the three steps of forming, cutting, and injection molding into one continuous operation performed within the injection molding machine, as well as eliminating the need for numerous pre-injection molding steps.
