  • Patent number: 6979361
Abstract: An end of service life indicator (ESLI) device for a fluid filter is included on the filter and visually indicates when the life of the filter has expired. The ESLI indicates the depletion of the filter by changing the color density on a surface of the device to a color density having a well distinguishable contrasting pattern that is easily recognizable even by individuals who are color-blind. The contrasting pattern may express text indicative of the state of the filter.

  • Patent number: 6964519
Abstract: An evacuable bag or container for items which benefit from being stored in a vacuum environment by reason that the bag or container is impermeable to air or liquid, with a first opening for entrance or closure purposes, which first opening has a zipper sealing closure adjacent thereto and integral with said bag or container for closing and opening purposes, the sealing integrity of which is aided by atmospheric and/or differential pressures, and a second opening, with an exit-only valve therein, for connection purposes to an external vacuum source, by which means said bag or container can be evacuated of air or liquid. Thus, this invention provides the constituent key to a relatively inexpensive appliance system for home vacuum packaging of perishables and/or items requiring compression packaging due to limited storage space.

  • Patent number: 6905487
Abstract: A manicure/pedicure glove for treatment of damaged skin areas and/or enhancing nail growth is presented. The glove comprises a single layer of breathable material having a second layer of material in a particular treatment area. The second layer of material is impregnated with a wax-based preparation and may or may not be separated from the external layer in the treatment area by a thin plastic film or exterior coating to ensure non-leakage. Alternatively, the glove may only cover the finger or toe tip. In use, the glove is provided. A hand or foot is inserted into the glove and the glove worn for a sufficient period to permit the wax-based preparation to penetrate into the treatment area. The glove is then removed and may be disposed or, or alternatively may be used for a specified number of repeated applications.

  • Patent number: 6867692
Abstract: The invention is a system including a third brake light for an automobile. The brake light is equipped with means for displaying a warning message when an emergency condition arises. Light emitting diodes, thin film transistors, liquid crystal displays, light bulbs or other light emitting or refracting means display a warning message when activated. The light emitting or refracting means operate in a normal mode when an emergency condition is not present.

  • Patent number: 6860251
Abstract: A rotary engine includes separate chambers for receiving pressurized air and fuel. An air chamber stories pressurized air that is routed into a combustion chamber to be mixed with fuel for combustion to drive a piston. The combustion chamber is forced open during a firing cycle to allow expanding gases into a piston chamber. A valve door serves as a base against which the expanding gases react to force a piston in a forward direction. The piston is coupled to a crank shaft which may in turn be coupled to a transmission or other power drive device to harness energy created by the turning crankshaft. A lifter includes a gear that rotates to raise and lower the valve door such that it moves towards and away from the crankshaft to optimize the amount of energy that is directed against the piston. Through series of multiplier gears, the amount of movement necessary to lift the door is minimal.
