Abstract: An apparatus for the measurement of exhaled respiratory gas temperature during free voluntary tidal breathing, comprises a housing 1 defining a chamber, an air inlet 2 for receiving a stream of exhaled respiratory gas and an air outlet 4 for permitting escape of exhaled respiratory gas from the chamber to outside of the housing. A tube having inner and outer surfaces, is located within the housing and extends from the air inlet into the chamber provides a passageway through which the stream of exhaled respiratory gas may travel from the air inlet in to the chamber. A temperature sensor 6 is located within the housing for measuring the temperature of exhaled respiratory gas.

Abstract: In one aspect, the present invention provides a water-in-oil emulsion comprising from about 5 to about 40 wt % aqueous phase and from about 95 to about 60 wt % non-aqueous phase, said aqueous phase being dispersed in said non-aqueous phase in the form of droplets having an average droplet size no greater than about 0.1 ?m, said emulsion comprising: at least 60 wt % of an oil selected from fuel oils, lubricating oils and mixtures thereof, from about 1 to about 30 wt % of emulsifying agents, and the balance to 100 wt % water, wherein said emulsifying agents include a fatty (C8-C24)-amido-(C1-C6)alkyl betaine, is useful as a fuel, coolant or lubricant.
Abstract: A conductive roll having at least one conductive elastic layer on the outer periphery of a core bar, the conductive elastic layer being granted conductivity by carbon black, is provided. The conductive elastic layer is prepared by reacting at least a polyol consisting essentially of a polyether-based polyol with a diisocyanate with the use of a tetravalent organotin-based compound having a tin content of 18.7% or less by weight as a catalyst. A method for producing the conductive roll is also provided.
Abstract: The present invention provides a multidirectional exerciser for hand, wrist and forearm comprising a handle having an axial opening through which a bolt extends. A spring means is around one end of the bolt disposed against an adjustment ring. A resistance knob is mounted on the adjustment ring. A pressure plate is mounted at the opposite end of the handle between the handle and the head of the bolt. At least one clutch disc is disposed against the pressure plate. A knob is mounted around the pressure plate and clutch disc, mounted for relative rotational movement with respect to the handle. The wrists and hands are exercised by holding the handle in one hand and the knob/grip member in the other hand, and repetitively twisting the handle and knob/grip member in opposite directions. A detachable grip member is mounted over said knob and the detachable grip member further comprises a gyro ring and a squeeze grip strengthener.
Abstract: Lightweight and rigid, leaded or lead-free integral radiation shielding structural compositions comprising two or more radiation attenuating elements or compounds thereof, selected for having compatible radiation attenuating characteristics, dispersed in a thermoplastic or thermoset resin. The radiation shielding structural compositions of the present invention can be used to functionally and structurally replace lead-lined structures in medical and industrial x-ray systems. The radiation shielding structural compositions of the present invention can also be formulated to minimize the density of the resulting structure.
