  • Patent number: 6793235
Abstract: A hitch guide is a device to aid the driver of a pickup truck in mounting a gooseneck trailer hitch onto the hitch ball mounted in the bed of a pickup truck. the present device has a strap mounted between tow end pieces which in turn mount on the side rails of a pickup truck bed to that the end pieces may be moved along the length of the pickup truck bed for adjustment purposes. A marker, mounted on the strap, may be adjusted laterally between the two pickup bed rails. When the strap and marker are properly adjusted, the pickup truck when backed up to the mounting pole of a gooseneck trailer so that the marker is just touching the mounting pole will be oriented so that the mounting pole and gooseneck trailer hitch are aligned directly over the hitch ball in the pickup truck bed.

  • Patent number: 6170843
Abstract: A step holding member has a first end which is insertable into a receiver-type trailer hitch and a second end which is adapted for holding a step member for stepping onto the tailgate of a pickup truck. In another embodiment of the invention the step holding member telescopes in and out towards a side of a pickup truck allowing for easy storage when telescoped in. In a third embodiment the step holding member folds inwards from the pickup towards the trailer hitch for storage. A fourth embodiment is adapted for mounting directly onto a trailer hitch drawbar so that the hitch may be used for towing with the step in place for use.

  • Patent number: 6009659
Abstract: A flip float is fishing float comprising a floatation ball having differently, distinguishably colored first and second halves with a shaft extending through the floatation ball perpendicular to the interface between the halves. A stem assembly containing an internal weight and stops on either end of the stem assembly is disposed to slide within the shaft between the stops contained at the ends of the stem assembly. When the float is inverted, the stem assembly shifts from one stop to the other and changes the center of gravity of the float which causes the float to remain inverted. A fisherman can tell at a glance, by noticing which color is out of the water, whether his line has been struck. Attachment of differently colored, reflecting material to the ends of the tube allows the fisherman to shine a light on the float at night to determine whether his line has been struck.

Abstract: A flip float is a fishing float having differently, distinguishably colored first and second halves with a tube extending through the float perpendicular to the interface between the halves. The tube contains a weight which shifts when a fish pulls on the fishing line and inverts the float. The weight moves between stops contained within the ends of the tube but outside of the float body which allows the weight to move at least partially outside of the body of the float. When the float is inverted, the weight shifts from one stop to the other and changes the center of gravity of the float which causes the float to remain inverted. A fisherman can tell at a glance, by noticing which color is out of the water, whether his line has been struck. Attachment of differently colored, reflecting material to the ends of the tube allows the fisherman to shine a light on the float at night to determine whether his line has been struck.
