  • Patent number: 6728470
Abstract: A data recording and reproducing apparatus capable of easily obtaining information which has few dropout and is necessary for variable speed reproduction at the time of variable speed reproduction. An image group dividing unit divides input image data into a plurality of image groups on a unit image basis, thereby forming plural divided data. After the formed divided data is temporarily stored into an image data temporary storing unit, the divided data is outputted as image data which is a data stream of the divided data in a predetermined image unit to a disk array apparatus via an HDD output interface unit. Each disk array apparatus records the divided data into HDDs so as to periodically change the relation between the HDDs and the groups of data to be recorded to the HDDs in a predetermined pattern.

  • Patent number: 6727799
Abstract: When a controller controls a target, a useless communication is eliminated, and control is made easier at the same time. When a personal computer sends a command demanding a VTR to execute ‘REWIND’, the VTR returns a response notifying of an OK for the demand and starts ‘REWIND’ in an inside recording/playback system at the same time. When the mechamode changes from ‘REWIND’ to ‘STOP’, the VTR generates an event and reports the change to the personal computer. Upon receipt of this event, the personal computer immediately sends a command demanding to set the mechamode to ‘PLAY’ to the VTR. Upon receipt of this command, the VTR returns a response notifying of an OK for the command and also sets the mode of the recording/playback system to ‘PLAY’.

  • Patent number: 6722206
Abstract: An oscillation sensing device includes a magnetised member mounted on a substrate. A magneto-electrical material is mounted on the substrate such that the magneto-electrical material is subjected to the magnetic field generated by the magnetised member. A movable member is mounted for oscillation in response to an oscillating force. Oscillation of the movable member causes a change in the magnetic field experienced by the magneto-electrical material and an electrical property of the electro-electrical material changes in response to changes in the magnetic field experienced by the magneto-electrical material due to oscillation of the movable member.

  • Patent number: 6720824
Abstract: A demodulation method and apparatus applicable to e.g., digital broadcast in accordance with the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system (OFDM), in which synchronization of carrier frequency correction control of OFDM signals can be maintained in stability. Based on the information indicating the demodulation reliability, such as the result of cumulative addition of CP values, supplied from the wide range fc error—CPE calculating circuit (10), or the transmission control signal detection information, supplied from the transmission control information demodulating communication (17), a holding circuit (14) verifies whether or not the wide range fc error—CPE calculating circuit (10) is making an erroneous detection operation. If the wide range fc error—CPE calculating circuit (10) is making an erroneous detection operation, the holding circuit (14) outputs the wide range fc error output in the previous symbol, without updating the information on the wide range fc error.

  • Patent number: 6718299
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a feature parameter detector for detecting feature parameters based on a plurality of input data, a normalizer for normalizing the feature parameters detected by the feature parameter detector while maintaining their feature components, and an integration unit for integrating the feature parameters normalized by the normalizer. In the information processing apparatus, feature parameters from a plurality of input data are normalized based on learning normalization coefficients, and distances from each of the normalized feature parameters and to a normal parameter are calculated. Based on the calculated distances, time-series normalization coefficients for performing speech recognition are determined for the feature parameters. Therefore, optimal normalization coefficients for recognizing the feature parameters at each point of time can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6714242
Abstract: In an image processing apparatus for processing the output signal of a CCD area sensor having a color filter with a Bayer arrangement of red, green, and blue primary colors, a VH-correlation detecting section calculates, according to four pieces of pixel information in four directions of the right and left directions (horizontal direction) and the upper and lower directions (vertical direction) from a pixel to be interpolated, correlation values in the four directions, for example, for green. According to these correlation values, interpolation coefficients are determined. Interpolation data is multiplied by the interpolation coefficients in multipliers and the results are summed up in adders to implement interpolation processing.

  • Patent number: 6707573
Abstract: An image on the original to be printed on a print sheet Pin by a printing machine is scanned by a scanner, and the data is edited by an editing section. The edited data is converted from the data dependent on the device (printing machine) to data not dependent on the device with the use of a device profile P1 which a converter has. A luminous-environment conversion circuit compensates the data sent from the converter according to the data corresponding to surrounding light, output from a sensor S1, and data related to the paper color of the print sheet Pin, output from the sensor S2. Another luminous-environment conversion circuit compensates input data according to the paper color of a print sheet Pout in a printer or surrounding-light data, output from sensors S3 and S4. Another converter converts the output of the luminous-environment conversion circuit to data dependent on the printer and the data is printed on the print sheet Pout by the printer.

  • Patent number: 6697709
Abstract: The stability of attitude of a robot can be recovered by an ambulation control apparatus and an ambulation control method if it is lost in the course of a gesture for which the upper limbs take a major role. The apparatus and the method obtain the pattern of movement of the entire body for walking by deriving the pattern of movement of the loins from an arbitrarily selected pattern of movement of the feet, the trajectory of the ZMP, the pattern of movement of the trunk and that of the upper limbs. Therefore, a robot can determine the gait of the lower limbs so as to realize a stable walk regardless if the robot is standing upright or walking. Particularly, if the robot is made to gesture, using the upper body half including the upper limbs and the trunk while standing upright, it can determine the gait of the lower limbs so as to make a stable walk in response to such a gait of the upper body half.
