  • Patent number: 6066793
Abstract: In executing a music performance on the basis of supplied performance data, a feeling of swing can be imparted to the performance by delaying tone-generation start time of a tone, based on the performance data, at each predetermined beat such as upbeat. In this case, if an original tone-generation end time of the tone to be delayed is ahead of tone-generation start time of a next tone, control is executed to automatically change a duration of the tone in such a manner that actual tone-generation end time of the delayed note comes ahead of the tone-generation start time of the next tone. In this manner, the delay control can be properly executed on staccato performance data without losing characteristics of staccato.

  • Patent number: 6066351
Abstract: An anti-oxidation technique for treating raw foods, such as nuts and seeds, so as to make them oxidation-resistant. In the technique of the present invention, foodstuffs such as nuts, seeds, etc., are heated under pressure in a tightly closed vessel, so that the texture of the raw food materials is slightly softened, and so that the moisture activity value is at the same time adjusted to a value in the polymolecular-layer moisture region of approximately 0.3-0.4. As a result, the water molecules are absorbed on the surfaces of the lipid molecules so that a polymolecular layer of water is formed and strong bonds between the water and proteins act synergistically to prevent penetration of oxygen into the interior texture of the foodstuff, such as nuts, thus conspicuously hindering oxidation.

  • Patent number: 6065092
Abstract: An independent and cooperative memory architecture is provided which includes a plurality of multi-line channels each capable of carrying either data or address information to a plurality of independent memory clusters. The channels can either operate independently to access and store data in separate ones of the memory clusters, or cooperatively to access and store data in one of the memory clusters. The independent and cooperative operation enables faster and more efficient utilization within a memory device over any prior art memory architecture. Each of the clusters have one or more independently addressable memory banks respectively having a plurality of data storage locations organized into respective arrays with each of the storage locations having a distinct column and row address. The multi-line channels provide a plurality of distinct operating modes for conducting selected data read and/or write transactions within the clusters.

  • Patent number: 6064862
Abstract: The system and method of the present invention facilitates the selection of a portion of an operating bandwidth and frequency of a digital microwave radio. The components include a transceiver mounted to a mounting plate having waveguide ports. The input and output of the receiver and transmitter portions of the transceiver module occur through the two waveguide ports of the plate. A diplexer inserted within the slot of an interface is externally mounted in relation to the mounting plate and to transceiver unit. The microwave energy from the transceiver module is coupled through the mounting plate, diplexer, interface and antenna. Because of the external mounting arrangement of the diplexer, interface, selecting an operating portion of the available bandwidth may occur after complete manufacture of the digital microwave radio.

  • Patent number: 6060879
Abstract: A current magnitude sensing circuit for detecting a malfunction of a DC brushless fan. The current magnitude sensing circuit detects drops in the current magnitude in windings of a fan motor. Depending on the frequency of the current drops in the fan current, the current magnitude sensing circuit outputs either a high or a low voltage signal. The current magnitude sensing circuit operates by charging a capacitor beyond a certain voltage and thereby providing a high fan fail output signal when a fan is spinning too slowly for proper cooling of a device. Another capacitor is charged at a different time constant for setting the fan fail output of the current magnitude circuit low for indicating that the fan is spinning sufficiently fast.
