Abstract: A chemical vessel having improved access means comprising an access tube forming an openable conduit, being closed at the internal end with a discoid breakseal during shipment, a chemical removal tube slidably mounted in gas tight relationship inside the access tube, and means for moving the removal tube into engagement with and breaking out the breakseal for permitting removal of chemical from the vessel is disclosed.
Abstract: An improved weir for removal of liquid from wastewater systems which is positively driven and which decants wastewater only over a leading edge of an elongated weir and removes the water through downcomers is disclosed.
Abstract: A mount for supporting a handgun and holster adjacent to the edge of the user's bed comprising a horizontal support plate, a vertical barrier plate extending vertically from the end of the horizontal support plate configured to lie against the outer vertical edge of the mattress, a spacer portion extending outwardly from the upper edge of the vertical barrier plate and a holster mount portion extending upwardly at an angle of about 45 degrees from the outward edge of the spacer portion to receive thereupon a handgun holster is disclosed.
Abstract: A sign stand for supporting signs in windy environments includes a base, a lower staff portion secured to the base, and an upper staff portion for receiving a display sign. The sign stand includes a platform support having a bracket secured thereto. A platform connected to the upper staff portion is pivotally mounted upon the bracket so that the upper staff portion has a range of pivotal motion in a plane. A spring exerts a force to urge the platform toward the platform support and to control the deflection of the upper staff portion whenever a force is applied to the upper staff portion to tend to rotate the platform about the bracket.
Abstract: A cervical traction tong assembly for mounting cranial pins to the head of a spinal fracture patient. The cervical tong assembly includes an arcuate central support member having a pair of movable coupling assemblies connected to the ends thereof for radial movement relative to the central support. A pair of straps for carrying cranial pins are rotatably mounted to each of the coupling assemblies. The coupling assemblies and the rotatable straps may be adjusted to position cranial pins at desired locations upon a patient's head and to provide a traction force vector at any predetermned angle.
Abstract: A downhole clock spring in the form of an elongate ribbon comprising means connecting one end to a mandrel for driving an escapement, means connecting the other end to a case, the ribbon spring being characterized in that the ribbon is split substantially along the length thereof.
Abstract: A wastewater treatment reaction vessel is operated with repeated sequences of aeration and non-aeration, using a single vessel or multiple vessels alternately, activated sludge which is acclimated for BOD reduction, nitrification or biological denitrification and phosphorus removal is absorptively reacted with influent wastewater, and the combined flow is passed into subsequent absorptive reactor volumes, reducing the BOD such that the effluent BOD is less than twenty percent that of the influent.
Abstract: A lottery ticket scraper constructed and arranged so as to scrap opaque coating from only portions of the lottery ticket, including means for supporting the lottery ticket, for aligning the lottery ticket and for scraping the lottery ticket are described.
Abstract: A roadway barrier section includes a duct formed of two intersecting frusto-conical portions placed end-to-end so that the central portion thereof. The duct is formed using two tapering mold plugs that are preferably frusto-conical. The mold plugs are placed in a concrete form so that the lower edge of the duct is a straight line that is generally parallel to the base of the barrier section.
Abstract: This invention provides a bundle carrier for deep drill stem testing in oil well drilling. The bundle carrier has an eccentric passage for permitting instruments and other apparatus to be passed therethrough during drilling and logging operations. A plurality of slots are formed in the thicker wall portion of the bundle carrier for receiving instrument bundles therein for making measurments of well borehole parameters. A locking device for securing measuring instruments in the slots and parts for communicating fluid to the measuring instrument are provided by this invention.
