  • Patent number: 8276942
Abstract: A combat vehicle restraint system accommodates a wide range of soldiers, both with and without battle, arctic, or chemical gear. The restraint system includes lengthened belts and an adjustable buckle position. The belts include loops for locating and grasping the belts, and separate lap and shoulder belts with small narrowing ends to prevent catching on gear. The belts are extendable from Inertial reels which are calibrated for off-road operation. The buckle engages each belt separately and includes a single action release. The buckle position is easily adjusted using an oversized knob so that a soldier may easily find and adjust buckle length in the dark, wearing heavy gloves, or with muddy slippery fingers. The latch/unlatch mechanism and associated hardware is an open frame type to reduce or eliminate affects of mud, dust, water or other contaminants on operation.

  • Patent number: 8239162
Abstract: An inertial measurement unit includes a base having a plurality of physically distinct sectors, upon which are positioned thereon three groups of orthogonally oriented angle rate sensors, each group positioned on a different sector of the base. Three high-G orthogonally oriented accelerometers are also positioned on the base, as well as three low-G orthogonally oriented accelerometers. A processor is positioned on the base having software resident thereon for receiving signals from the three groups of angle rate sensors and the three high-G and three low-G accelerometers. Software is also resident on the processor for calculating from the received signals one or more of the following: a change in attitude, a change in position, a change in angular rate, a change in velocity, and a change in acceleration of the unit over a plurality of finite time increments. Preferably, each gyro is subjected to oversampling, temperature and bias compensation, and bias offset compensation.

  • Patent number: 8230718
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus that precisely measures the bearings in a rotor pitch link. The apparatus permits measurements to within a thousandths of an inch to be taken in multiple perpendicular orientations. Namely, measurements can be taken in the axial direction, in the longitudinal radial direction, and in the transverse radial direction. All of these measurements can be taken without having to reorient the pitch link. By using the apparatus of the present invention, a user can detect unacceptable levels of wear within the pitch link bearings to thereby permit timely replacement and/or repair.

  • Patent number: 8209795
Abstract: A prefabricated, polyurethane reaction injection molded, leak-proof shower module suitable for use in constructing a tiled shower includes a floor and a plurality of sidewalls wherein a first sidewall is taller than at least a portion of a second sidewall and the difference in height between the first sidewall and the second sidewall is sufficient to permit the attachment of a modular curb to the second sidewall. The floor is bounded along peripheral edges by the plurality of sidewalls which extend substantially vertically from the edges. A method of installing a tiled shower is implemented in one embodiment by applying adhesive material on a subfloor within an area bounded by stud framing, setting the prefabricated shower module in place on the subfloor, installing a prefabricated modular curb proximate to at least one sidewall of the module, attaching wallboard to the framing, and installing tile over the wallboard, module and curb.

  • Patent number: 8208687
Abstract: A millimetric wave imaging device includes: a lens antenna; a polygon mirror; a receiving portion; a scanning unit; and an image data generating unit. The receiving portion receives millimetric wave radiated from an object, transmitted through the lens antenna, and reflected on a mirror surface of the polygon mirror rotated by the scanning unit to detect a signal level of the millimetric wave. The image data generating unit generates image data representing an object image by receiving a detection signal from the receiving portion while driving the polygon mirror through the scanning unit.
