Abstract: A stowage and center of gravity verification and assessment tool which assists users in locating items within an environment, determining the center of gravity of the environment, and calculating item location changes that facilitate altering the center of gravity. Each item to be tracked within the environment is equipped with one or more remotely pollable identifiers, such as, without limitation, barcodes, or RFID or ultrasonic tags, and the system stores the mass of each item. As items are moved in the environment, the system tracks the impact of such movement on the environment's center of gravity and recommends item location changes. The system can also assist users in locating items within the environment, provide access to detailed information about individual items, and assist with task scheduling.

Abstract: A portable spa enclosure provides an aesthetically pleasing cover for pre-manufactured spas. Additionally, spa hardware is concealed by the spa enclosure, while lighting is recessed to provide a “soft” light solution.

Abstract: Fracturing tools for use in oil and gas wells comprise an inner sleeve, an outer sleeve, a run-in position, and two operational positions. The inner sleeve comprises two ports and two positions. The first port is aligned with a first port of the housing when the tool and sleeve are in the first operational position and is closed when the tool and sleeve are in the run-in position. After performing the first operation, the inner sleeve is returned to its initial position and the outer sleeve is moved placing the tool in the second operational position in which the second port in the inner sleeve is in fluid communication with a second port in the housing. Movement of the tool from the first operational position to the second operational position so that a second operation can be performed is done without the need for an additional well intervention step.

Abstract: Gateway apparatus for facilitating communications using a stateful protocol (e.g., SIP or SIP/SIMPLE protocol). The gateway apparatus includes a plurality of gateway devices and a remote dialog store, wherein each of the plurality of gateway devices comprises export logic for causing dialog information associated with a first received message (e.g., a request or response) to be communicated to the dialog store, and retrieval logic for causing a lookup of the dialog information in response to a second received message, the second received message associated with the first received message. In one example the gateway devices are stateless, thereby relying on the dialog store for validating and routing messages. In another example, the gateway devices are stateful and rely on the dialog store for backup (e.g., if a gateway device crashes). The gateway devices may be configured for receiving and processing messages according to SIP protocol or SIP/SIMPLE protocol.

Abstract: Monolithic metal bodies (e.g., hard aluminum alloys) comprising a continuous microcavity contained within the body are disclosed. The ratio of the cross-sectional area of the metal body to the cross-sectional area of the microcavity may be not greater than 10. The produced metal bodies may be used in structural applications (e.g., aerospace vehicles) to monitor or test the integrity of the metal body.

Abstract: A recharging device with voltage detection for an alkaline primary cell includes an oscillating unit that generates a pulse signal from an input power to charge the alkaline primary cell. The recharging device also includes a detecting unit configured to be electrically coupled to the alkaline primary cell. The detecting unit is also configured to detect a voltage of the alkaline primary cell and output a corresponding detection signal. The recharging device further includes a control unit electrically coupled to the oscillating unit and the detecting unit. The control unit controls the oscillating unit to operate in one of a first charge mode and a waiting mode based on the detection signal output by the detecting unit. The oscillating unit outputs the pulse signal when operated in the first charge mode and discontinues output of the pulse signal when operated in the waiting mode.

One embodiment includes: identifying a first member connected to a second member in a social network; determining whether profile data of the first member of the social network includes a telephonic reference of the first member; presenting a user interface element to the second member over a data communication network in response to a determination that the profile data of the first member includes the telephonic reference of the first member; and responsive to a selection of the user interface element, initiating a first telephonic connection to the first member using the telephonic reference of the first member and a second telephonic connection to the second member to provide a telephonic connection between the first member and the second member.

Abstract: A construct for repairing articular cartilage defects includes a cap member and a base member. The cap member has an upper section and a stem depending from a central region thereof. The upper section includes a peripheral region. The stem includes a cavity. The base member has first and second ends, the first end including an annular recess dimensioned such that the stem is receivable therein. The first end also includes an annular edge positioned laterally outwardly from the annular recess, for abutting and supporting the peripheral region of the upper section when the stem is received in the annular recess. The base member further includes an island which is surrounded by the annular recess and receivable in the cavity of the stem, such that the island is abuttable with and may thereby support the central region of the upper section when the stem is received in the annular recess.

Abstract: To restore context information about a clip that was sampled from a broadcast program, the clip is identified by matching a digital fingerprint of the clip against a database of known digital fingerprints taken from broadcast programs. If the clip can be identified, it is then associated with information about the matching broadcast program. The loss of context data about the clip obtained from a broadcast program is thus remedied, enabling media content available online to be more useable for a variety of purposes, such as media searching, automatic broadcast attribution, and targeting advertisements.

Abstract: A coreless and spirally wound non-woven filter element is provided. The filter element includes at least one band of base media having a selected porosity and an interlay having a different porosity within at least one band of base media. The presence of the interlay in the filter element can create additional surface area within the contiguous construction of a filter element for filtration. This interlay can also create the ability to change direction of flow and to increase the deposition of specifically sized contaminants.

Abstract: A system and method for detecting and storing mobile device usage by a driver of a vehicle. An antenna in a vehicle is configured and positioned to detect mobile device signals from the driver area in the vehicle. A processor in communication with the antenna analyzes the detected signals for frequency and strength. The antenna and processor may communicate with vehicle data collection systems (e.g., GPS, telemetry, etc.) such that the mobile device usage data may be collected along with the vehicle operation data. The mobile device usage data and vehicle operational data can be evaluated to determine the impact of mobile device usage by the driver of a vehicle. The data may be especially useful to the trucking, train, bus, and mass transit industries in order to educate drivers about the dangers associated with using mobile devices while driving.

Abstract: A system for forecasting demand includes a store client, an application for running a demand forecasting algorithm, a database providing store-level data to the application for the demand forecasting algorithm, wherein the store client communicates with the application, and an external interface providing future event information to the application, wherein the application manages ordering based on the demand forecasting algorithm using the future event information.
