Abstract: An integral lamp for producing a spectral light distribution substantially identical in uniformity to the spectral light distribution of a desired daylight with a color temperature of from about 3250 to about 10,000 degrees Kelvin throughout the entire visible light spectrum from about 380 to about 780 nanometers. The lamp contains a enclosed lamp envelope having an interior surface and an exterior surface, a light producing element which emits radiant energy throughout the entire visible spectrum with wavelengths from about 200 to about 2,000 nanometers at non-uniform levels of radiant energy across the visible spectrum, and at least one coating on at least one of said surfaces and having a transmittance level in substantial accordance with the formula D(L)=[O(L)−F(L)×S(L)]/[S(L)×{1−F(L)}], wherein: 1.
Abstract: The present invention is a collapsible two-wheeled vehicle, wherein the vehicle comprises a down tube and a horizontal stay that are pivotably connected to one another at midsections thereof as well as being slidably connected to steering and seat assemblies, respectively. The slightly canted arrangement of the various members and assemblies provides a rigid structure to support an operator during use yet allows the vehicle to be collapsed to a compact size for storage and shipping. The vehicle may be folded or collapsed in the form of an “X”, bringing the wheels into a side-by-side position, to reduce its overall size without compromising its structural rigidity when reopened.
Abstract: A defibrillator which contains a device for producing alternating voltage, a power factor controller for converting the alternating voltage to a direct voltage, and a device for converting the direct voltage into a biphasic waveform voltage. The defibrillator also contains a device for sensing the electrical activity of a human heart and for allowing one to hear an audio signal corresponding to such activity.
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for achieving high work output per unit volume in micro-robotic actuators, and in particular TiNi actuators. Such actuators are attractive as a means of powering nano-robotic movement, and are being developed for manipulation of structures at near the molecular scale. In these very small devices (one micron scale), one means of delivery of energy is by electron beams. Movement of mechanical structures a few microns in extent has been demonstrated in a scanning electron microscope. Results of these and subsequent experiments will be described, with a description of potential structures for fabricating moving a microscopic x-y stage.

Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus to counter normal gravitational force in order to provide a personnel lifting device. The personnel lifting device is a lighter-than-air gas-filled balloon having a harness to suspend a user therefrom. The balloon further includes a weighted tether to automatically control the height of any ascent and the speed of any descent—wherein the balloon may be used as a component of an amusement.
Abstract: A process for generating electricity in which a gas/liquid mixture is compressed in a compressor, partially purified in an accumulator/separator, partially purified in a coalescent filter, subjected to pressure regulation, and then fed to a microturbine. The microturbine produces a direct current which is used to drive a direct current motor which, in turn, drives a generator which produces alternating current.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a pusher apparatus for moving materials on a ground surface and a method for manufacturing such pushers using a bifurcated process that enables customization of the pusher for use with a plurality of agricultural tractor configurations. The bifurcated process includes prefabrication of a blade assembly with at least a blade, channel supports and vertical side walls, followed by a subsequent process for completing the apparatus by mounting one of at least two alternative attachment mechanisms to the rear of the blade assembly.
Abstract: A surface-relief transmission diffraction grating which, after having been subjected to a test condition of 85 degrees centigrade and a relative humidity of 85 percent for at least 500 hours, has diffraction efficiency performance within 6 percent of that achieved before being subjected to these test conditions.
Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus for securing a window or similar opening and includes a fair of frames slidably mated to one another. The apparatus further includes one or more sensors or switches that would be triggered in the event that the apparatus is moved or removed, thereby initiating an alarm.
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for use in a die feeder used in automated assembly machines and includes, among other aspects and features, a novel nest for holding a die against a vacuum port and releasing same without an independently controlled vacuum source. The invention also includes a novel elevator mechanism, employed to lift the nest to a pick location and means for positioning and aligning the nest for precision travel and pick location placement.
Abstract: A photocell device having enhanced conversion efficiency. The device is adapted to convert light energy to electrical energy in a semiconductor layer, to convert a first, monochromatic light, to a second light of different wavelength, in a fluorescent layer, to transmit the first light through a hot mirror layer, to reflect light from the hot mirror layer, and to reflect light from a mirror layer disposed at a second surface of the device.
Abstract: A sealed barrier bag that contains a first compartment, a second compartment, a non-oxidizing gas located in the first compartment, a perishable item located in the second compartment, and a device for venting the non-oxidizing gas from said second compartment.
Abstract: A gas-fired infrared radiation emitter with a frame, a screen removably attached to the frame, and a device for locking the screen to the frame. At least three receptacles are connected to each side of the frame, and at least one support is connected to each end of the frame. Three retaining bars extend from one side of the frame to the other and are used to lock secure the screen between such bars and the frame; and a fourth retaining bar extends from one end of the frame to the other and also secures the screen.
Abstract: A process for evaluating the radar pattern of a phased array antenna subsystem by utilizing transmissions from a global positioning satellite. This process utilizes a delayed radar target on a moving platform, a remote differential global positioning receiver on the moving platform, a fixed global positioning receiver on the phased array antenna, and a communication data link between the remote global positioning receiver and the fixed global positioning receiver.
