Abstract: A radiation garment holder for mounting on a wall or other suitable surface. The holder has a central section with first and second clearance sections, first and second arms, and first and second shoulder support regions. The cantilevered clearance sections prevent radiation protection garments from contacting a support surface. The non-contact design reduces disease transmission between the radiation garment and a support surface, and reduces mechanical damage to the garment. The convex shoulder supports help extend the useful life of a radiation garment. The holder is nonporous and may readily be disinfected without degrading the material. The nonporous holder reduces the absorption of infectious agents, reduces the ability of the holder to support the growth of microorganisms or other antigenic materials, and reduces the risk of transferring unhealthful agents.
Abstract: Apparatuses forming portable identification cards and associated methods are described. A preferred apparatus includes an input device adapted for a consumer to enter authentication data, a memory for storing reference data, a processor configured to compare the authentication data entered by the consumer to the reference data stored in the memory to determine whether the authentication data entered by the consumer is valid authentication data, an indicator for informing a merchant when the processor has determined that the consumer has entered valid authentication data, and a power source adapted to supply power to the processor and the indicator. Other features are also disclosed.
Abstract: Systems and methods for playing live casino-type card games, in particular blackjack. The systems include a presentation unit which has video displays which portray virtual playing cards and other information at gaming tables attended by live participants. Shuffling, cutting, dealing and return of playing cards are accomplished using data processing functions within an electronic game processor or processors which enable these functions to be performed quickly and without manual manipulation of playing cards. The invention allows casinos to speed play and reduce the risk of cheating while maintaining the attractive ambiance of a live table game. The processor can also associate one or more slot symbols with the virtual playing cards so that jackpots can be awarded on the basis of winning slot symbols or combinations of symbols.

Abstract: Apparatus forming a portable charge, debit or similar identification card which can be read using a magnetic card reader and methods for securing information are described. The preferred apparatus includes a magnetic stripe for storing information, a jamming assembly configured to emit a jamming signal which temporarily renders at least a portion of the magnetic stripe unreadable when the card is swiped through the card reader without first entering correct authentication data, and a power source adapted to supply power to the jamming assembly. Other features are also disclosed.
