  • Patent number: 5847279
Abstract: An angular speed measuring device comprises a rotating tuning fork transducer. First excitation electrodes excite the transducer to cause a first vibration in a first plane parallel to the planes of the principal faces of the transducer. The first vibration induces a second vibration in a plane perpendicular to the planes of the principal faces. The second vibration comprises a first component having an amplitude representative of the angular speed, and a second or parasite component. To avoid the distorting effects of the parasitic component of the second vibrations, the device is provided with a second set of excitation electrodes to excite a third vibration in the transducer, the third vibration being in phase opposition to the parasite component of the second vibration. Detection electrodes are provided for detecting vibrations in the direction perpendicular to the principal faces.

  • Patent number: 5841347
Abstract: A one-touch doorlock device having a construction capable of being easily mounted at either a left or right side of a door by a simple manipulation, locking the door only by manipulating the doorknob without any additional manipulation, and outputting speech messages respectively corresponding to locked and unlocked states of the door by use of a microcomputer and a ROM as a speech memory stored with speech messages. The device thus provides easy and convenient doorlock mounting and provides convenience in use to the user. The doorlock device includes door locking mechanism for moving the locking bolt to its locked position. The door locking mechanism has a rotating member operatively connected to the doorknobs in such a manner that the rotating member rotates by a manipulation of the doorknobs, thereby moving the locking bolt between an extended position corresponding to the locked position and a retracted position.

  • Patent number: 5838206
Abstract: An atomic maser includes a circuit (25) for effecting a shift in the frequency of a signal injected into a resonant cavity (4) so as to generate alternately a first and a second signal portion having respectively a frequency greater than and less than the natural frequency of stimulated emission, the first and second signal portions having a periodicity corresponding to a predetermined interrogation period. Circuitry (31,32,33,51,52) is responsive to a signal detected in the cavity (4) to produce an error signal representing the difference between the amplitude of the detected signal in response to the injection of the first and second signal portions. Further circuitry (53,54) adjusts the resonant frequency of the cavity in response to the error signal. A pulse generator 26 and a mixer 28 periodically apply both the first and second signal portions for a limited duration only during the interrogation period.

  • Patent number: 5833828
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for thermal process control in electroforming stampers for the production of CD/LD data carriers or the like. The temperature of an electrolytic solution in an electroforming cell is maintained at a value nearest a specific maximum temperature by raising or lowering the temperature of the electrolytic solution in a storage tank provided outside of the electroforming cell as a function of the temperature measured in a cathode space of the electroforming cell. A temperature sensor is disposed in or near the cathode space adjacent an electrolyte injection nozzle in a space between the anode and cathode means for supplying signals to a control unit. The temperature sensor and the injection nozzle are preferably assembled into a single mounting unit. The electroforming process can thus be run with an optimum effectivity in the vicinity of a maximum permissible temperature of the electrolytic solution.
