  • Patent number: 4900185
Abstract: A three sided spreader box has a pair of columnar members attached to one of its sides. A pair of sleeves slidingly engage the columnar members and allow the spreader box to be coupled to a dump truck having a side delivery conveyor in such a way that the spreader box is held in fixed horizontal relation to the discharge opening of the conveyor but is free to independently move vertically. A road wheel supports the spreader box and provides means for changing the elevation of the bottom edge of the rear wall of the spreader box. Chutework directs asphaltic material from the conveyor into the spreader box. An oiler periodically oils the chute to prevent sticking of the asphaltic material. The rear wall of the spreader may be hinged to allow the inclination from the horizontal of the bottom edge of the rear wall of the spreader box to be varied.

  • Patent number: 4636592
Abstract: Apparatus and a method for mounting a speaker in a lined helmet whereby a speaker is placed in a covered cup attached to a blade and the blade is inserted between the lining and shell of the helmet so that the speaker will be located adjacent to the wearer's ear. The speaker is electrically connected to a signal source by a cable which passes through a hole in the side of the cup and is then connected to a jack. The jack is contained in a jack-holding member having a blade attached thereto so that the jack and cable may be removably attached to the helmet.

  • Patent number: 4605118
Abstract: A reclaiming wheel which has a pair of annular members mounted on an axle. A flexible belt is fitted between the peripheries of the annular members around part of their circumference. Scoops are attached to one or both of the annular members, projecting both axially and radially. As the wheel is rotated about the axle the scoops direct material to be reclaimed through openings in the annular member to which they are attached into the interior of the wheel. The material is held against the belt by centrifugal force and moves with the belt and wheel until it reaches the point at which the belt separates from the wheel. The material is then thrown from the wheel onto a conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4575074
Abstract: An exercise weight that has a handgrip and a hollow body disposed about the handgrip so that the mass of the body and of any material with which it might be filled will be evenly disposed about the hand of the user. The hand grip has a rectangular cross-section so as to engage the articulations of the hand. A flat surface is provided above the handgrip so that the weight can be rested upon the thumb and first finger of the user's hand. The outer walls of the body are sloped and join the bottom at an obtuse angle. The distance between the handgrip and one of the inner walls of the body is such that the device may be used as either a hand weight or a foot weight.
