Abstract: A system and method is provided by which banks implement an automated process to identify and analyze payment related information, and, more particularly, to such a system and method requiring an identification of incoming payments correspondent banks route through competitors; the capture of information, including the correspondent bank the payment originated from, the competitor the payment was sent through, the account party (correspondent bank's customer), the payment beneficiary (customer), and payment ID information (reference numbers, date and amount) associated with such payments; the generation of an advisory message to the correspondent bank that payment can be made directly from their account (book transfer) and the generation of a report to correspondent banks identifying indirectly routed payments for the month.

Abstract: A manipulative toy is provided comprising a body and a plurality of interchangeable appendages, such as arms, legs, heads, tails and wings, removably attachable to the body at certain predefined coupling points using complementary magnetic elements disposed within both the appendages and the body. The appendages are retained in place by the interaction between two sets of complementary ribbed elements disposed on both the body and the appendages about the magnetic elements, which complementary ribbed elements are formed in a beveled configuration. The configuration of these ribbed elements, in combination with attractive force of the complementary magnetic elements and the frictional engagement of the complementary ribs, limits the appendages from moving rotationally about the point of attachment, and limits the movement of the appendage in the plane of the point of attachment, thereby allowing the manipulative toy to be posed by a user and retain its position.

Abstract: A variably proportional mixing device is provided for automatically mixing two fluids stored in separate containers in various ratios without measuring, comprising a self-venting spout that attaches to an existing gas can or other container for storing a fluid having a threaded opening therein. The spout doses gas with oil at the specific ratio required by an engine manufacturer and is easily adjusted to accommodate a plurality of other ratios. To accomplish this, a constant volume of gasoline is dosed with an amount of oil that is adjusted by the user. This adjustment mechanism comprises a wheel valve having various-sized orifices. Twisting the valve using a knob or key then provides the correct volumetric area for the oil to flow through. Markings will be visible on the valve, through a window, that correspond to a plurality of different ratios, typically ranging from 16:1 to 50:1. The dosing valve can also be shut-off completely to allow pure gasoline through the spout, such as for 4 cycle engines.

In the preferred embodiment, the means for controlling comprises a trigger operated flow control cylinder which controls the flow of fluid from the first container and the second container, and a ratio cylinder including a channel therethrough having a variable cross-sectional area, the rotation of which using the selecting means varies the flow rate of the fluid from the second container into the flow of fluid from the first container. A static mixer is provided for mixing the two fluids in the spout of the device.

Abstract: An autostereoscopic projection arrangement, comprising at least one projector and at least one filter array which has a multitude of filter elements arranged in columns and rows, in which arrangement bits of partial information from views of a scene or object are projected by the projector(s) onto a projection screen, where there bits of partial information are rendered on image rendering elements and, having passed one or several of the filter arrays, are made visible to at least one observer, and in which, as regards to propagation direction of the bits of partial information, the image rendering elements correspond with correlated filter elements in such a way that an observer will see predominantly bits of partial information from a first selection of views with one eye and predominantly bits of partial information from a second selection of views with the other eye, and thus will have a spatial impression.

Abstract: A device for measuring anode tube current or filament current in an X-ray tube, comprising a coil of wire wrapped around an insulating tube to generate a solenoidal magnetic field, one or more pieces of magnetic material and insulating material located within the tube (which magnetic elements may have their electrical potential stabilized by a resistive voltage divider), and a Hall Effect current sensor (HECS) located at the far end of the tube and insulated from the magnetic material. The output of the Hall Effects sensor is connected to an amplifier circuit, and a secondary coil of wire is used to capture the high frequency component of the magnetic signal. The secondary coil is connected to a current amplifier circuit which is followed by a high pass filter to only provide components above the cross over frequency of the hall sensor. The two signals are combined with an amplifier to provide a broad band signal that may be viewed by a current amplifier.

Abstract: An ionizing particulate scrubber is provided for the removal of particulate from a gaseous exhaust stream, said scrubber including two sections: a charging section and a collection section. The charging or ionizing section includes one or more cylindrical tubular ground chambers each with a rigid threaded rod electrode extending through the center thereof. A transformer/rectifier (T/R) is provided to supply high voltage DC power to the electrode such that the cylindrical tubular ground chambers act as the ground to enable a corona to form on the threaded rod electrode. As the gas stream passes through the current flowing from the electrode to the cylindrical tubular ground chambers walls, the particulate contained within the stream is electrostatically charged. The collection system includes either a fixed or fluid bed packed section which is constantly irrigated from above. Ground rods in the packing and liquid sump allow the entire section to act as a grounded collector for the charged particulate.

Abstract: A fastening device is provided for hanging a picture or other wall object on a wall. The fastening device includes a clear, flexible, non-resilient carrier having at least two mounting hooks in parallel alignment which are secured to the carrier for engaging wire mounting means on the back of the picture or wall object. This permits the device to be used on irregularly shaped or curved walls or walls with imperfections. Alignment grooves may be provided at opposite ends of the carrier to facilitate proper alignment of the carrier on the wall. Affixation means in the form of either a nail or adhesive mounts are provided for affixing the carrier to the wall. A leveling device, preferably a bubble level, may be included in the carrier. A companion method for hanging the picture or other wall object on a wall using the subject fastening device is further provided.

Abstract: A protective cover for eyeglasses is provided comprising a pair of complementary tubular members that are fitted over the temples of a pair of glasses, each tubular member having sufficient material or elasticity to stretch to completely cover the lenses of the eyeglasses and a means to fit snugly around the temples. The pair of tubular members are formed as part of a single strap-like device which may be composed of a single tubular member or, alternatively, a strap having two ends, each of which are attached to the tubular member. Such embodiment allows a wearer to use the protective cover as a strap for holding the eyeglasses around his or her neck when not being worn.

Abstract: An elongated packaging device is provided for packaging at least one disc-shaped item such as, for example, a recording media disc such as a CD, a CD-ROM or a DVD, together with other materials relating to such disc or otherwise in a stacked relationship. The packaging device comprises a first member having a first chamber and a first opening providing access thereto, said first chamber including means to receive and retain a disc-shaped media, and a second member for the storage of materials other than the disc-shaped media, said second member including a second chamber and a second opening providing access thereto. A method is further provided for packaging such disc-shaped item and other material within the packaging device.

Abstract: A packaging device is provided for retaining a disc-shaped media. In its preferred form the device comprises a lid for a container having an interior and an exterior surface, wherein the lid may be repeatedly attached to and removed from the container, preferably by means of a compression fit, and wherein the exterior surface of the lid includes a recess within which a disc-shaped media, such as a digital media disk, may be stored. In one embodiment, the disc-shaped media is first placed within a protective envelope, which envelope is then inserted into or applied to the recess and retained therein. Various means for retaining the envelope in or on the recess are contemplated, including adhesives such as fugitive glue or double-side tape, or sealing members. In an alternate embodiment, the protective envelope is not necessary, and the disc-shaped media is inserted in or applied to the recess and held therein by the same retaining means.

Abstract: A packaging device is provided for packaging at least one disc-shaped item such as a CD-ROM or a DVD. The packaging device includes a first member for the storage of disc-shaped media in a chamber or cavity, which container may be attached to storage devices of various shapes and sizes for the storage of materials other than the disc-shaped media. The chamber includes means for maintaining the disc-shaped media in a stable state within the chamber, such that the disc-shaped media is allowed to rotate, while limiting the linear movement of the disc-shaped media both perpendicular to and parallel to the plane of the media. The disc-shaped media may be sealed within the inner chamber by means of either a circular protective element or by means of a complementary cap or lid adapted to engage the first member. The first member is attached to the storage device by means of engagement of the first member with the top of or cover to the package or packages.

Abstract: A laundry basket is provided of the type having a bottom wall, a pair of opposed side walls and a pair of opposed end walls all extending upwardly from the bottom wall. The basket includes at least one receptacle formed into at least one of the side walls for receiving and retaining a clear plastic, refillable laundry product tube adapted to store a laundry product such as soap, bleach or fabric softener. The laundry basket further includes at least one handle formed into at least one of the end walls including a center aperture for receiving and retaining a coin tube adapted to store coins for use in a washing machine or drier. In an alternative embodiment, the laundry product tube may be stored in the center aperture of said handles.

Abstract: A cassette for stapler capable of storing staples with different lengths of needle legs and capable of being manufactured at a low cost, comprising a cassette body formed slender with a channel shaped cross section and having a staple extrusion groove provided at the tip thereof, a staple holder longitudinally fitted to the cassette body to hold the large number of staples, a feeder for moving the staples pressingly toward the tip thereof, a spring for energizing the feeder, and a guide rod for guiding the movement of the feeder, wherein a guide wall capable of storing the staples with different lengths of needles is provided in the staple holder.

Abstract: A fruit skewer having an elongated central shaft for receiving and securing fruit, food or non-food items thereon for display or cooking. The portion of the shaft upon which the fruit or other item is to be situated has a cross-sectional area designed to prevent the object through which the skewer is inserted from rotating about the longitudinal axis of the skewer. In the preferred embodiment, the cross-sectional area is in a cross (“+”) shape, although other shapes are anticipated, including a “Y” shape as well as a star shape having five or more fins (e.g., “*”). In this embodiment, the end of the skewer is tapered or beveled to allow for the easy insertion of the skewer into the fruit or other object, and the fins are chamfered. At least one projection is provided along the length of the skewer, the projection being provided so as to prevent the item through which the skewer is being inserted from sliding too far down the length of the skewer.

Abstract: A protective cover for eyeglasses is provided comprising a pair of complementary tubular members that are fitted over the temples of a pair of glasses, each tubular member having sufficient material or elasticity to stretch to completely cover the lenses of the eyeglasses and a means to fit snugly around the temples. A fixed retaining member is attached to one end of the tubular member and a one or more strips are attached about the opposite end of the tubular member, which end is intended to be stretched over the lenses. A sliding retaining member is also provided on the tubular member and is retained thereon by means of the fixed retaining member and the strips. In operation, the tubular member is retained on the temples by twisting the tubular member about the temple, using the fixed retaining member at one end and the combination of the strips and the sliding retaining member at the other end to frictionally engage the temple and prevent the tubular member from unravelling.
