  • Patent number: 7882645
Abstract: A system, method and kit for making singular applique elements, combining the singular elements on a singular pattern as an aid for quickly and repeatably creating a combined element for attachment to a quilt, tablecloth, bedspread, pillow case, and the like. Two pre-printed paper sheets are provided having outlines of the applique elements printed wherein one paper sheet is cut into singular design elements and the other pre-printed sheet is of a coated nature that remains intact as a singular pattern. The singular design elements are applied to the applique fabric of which the fabric is cut to the shape of the singular element. The singular elements are then combined using the singular pattern as an assembly template ensuring a repeatable applique design. The combined applique elements can then be attached to the desired base material in a usual manner.

  • Patent number: 7836948
Abstract: A device and method and/or system for generating pulses to improve drilling rates, the ability to drill straighter and farther by increasing fracturing or injection efficiencies in a geological formation that may contain desirable hydrocarbons. This system can be used in other types of drilling or fracturing operations, whether to unclog arteries or to open formations for underground storage in conjunction with pulsing/fracturing and create large pulses downhole for seismic purposes. The system and method comprises several pulse generating devices longitudinally and axially positioned within upper, middle, lower, and outer annular drill collar flow channels or packer isolation mechanisms such that the PFD medium flows through the various annular drill collar flow channels and the PFD medium is guided into one or more sets of selectively reversible flow connecting channels, wherein the connecting channels are connected to guide pole channel allowing for controlling pulsing within the geological formation.

  • Patent number: 7645503
Abstract: The invention herein pertains to pavement marking patterns and the application thereof to roads, streets, walkways and the like. Various pattern designs for the markings are available to replicate layers of bricks, cobblestones, horizontal signage, logos and other components. The marking patterns are composed of two or more independent sections, the first section is a grid representing for example, the mortar joints in a brick wall. The second sections or inserts, for example represent bricks which are contained within the grid. As the first and second sections are generally formed from different colored, preferably thermoplastic materials, a hot melt adhesive spray is utilized on the bottom surface of the marking pattern to bridge the intersections between the first and second sections to maintain the integrity of the marking pattern for convenience during handling and application to a substrate.

  • Patent number: 7465693
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system, method, and composition for a thermochromatic, color indicative sheet or device that is bonded to an article such as a concrete or asphalt surface, a traffic sign, a plate of a guidepost and on which is indicated a surface temperature near or below the freezing point of water. The invention can also utilize an adhesive system including a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) and/or thermal sensitive adhesive sheet for adhering sheets of preformed thermoplastic with the thermochromatic color indicative sheet to concrete, asphalt, wood or composite material surfaces. The invention includes methods of applying the product allowing for immediate use in a traffic area upon completion of the application to any appropriate outdoor surface.

  • Patent number: 7241953
Abstract: A high performance communications cable with core support-separators having various shaped profiles defining and maintaining a space between transmission multi-media or transmission multi-media pairs. The core may be of a conductive or insulative material. The central core region includes a hollow opening or duct for blown fiber (ABF). The core support-separator can be interior to the cable jacket or without the benefit of a jacket. A thin layer of material can act as a type of skin for future mechanical protection. The specially shaped core support-separator has a central region that is either solid, partially solid, foamed, with a solid skin over the foam or hollow itself. The cable may include a plurality of shaped sections that extend outward from the central region along the length of the central region. Each of the defined clearance channels allow for disposal therein of conductors and optical fibers.

  • Patent number: 7202418
Abstract: The present invention includes a high performance communications cable exhibiting reduced cross-talk of any form between transmission media that includes one or more core support-separators having various shaped profiles which define a clearance to maintain a spacing between transmission media or transmission media pairs. The core may be formed of a conductive or insulative material to further reduce cross-talk and improve other electrical properties as well as reduce flame and smoke spread. The cable and separators are comprised of principally polymer blends that include olefin and/or fluoropolymer and/or chlorofluoropolymer based resins with and without inorganic additive such as nano-clay composites. These unique blends offer both flame and smoke suppression while maintaining the characteristics necessary to improve electrical performance and allow for severe cost reduction over conventional separators.

  • Patent number: 7180826
Abstract: A device, method, and system for creating a pressure pulse from drilling fluid within a drill string in a down hole drill collar for enabling measurement-while drilling. The device and system are designed such that primarily laminar flow exists in the area surrounding the pulser apparatus. The method associated with the reproducible and essentially noise-free pulses occurs when a pulser bell is manipulated in an upward and downward direction by a combination of the solenoid activation of a bi-directional poppet to redirect the fluid flow from the pressure reservoir to and from a sliding pressure chamber and associated upper and lower flow connecting channels. The pulse or non-pulse is converted into a digital signal uphole by a pressure transducer in conjunction with a decoding algorithm. It is then displayed to the driller and oilfield operators as useful directional and formation information that help the oilfield operator for uphole decision making regarding directional drilling.

  • Patent number: 6866841
Abstract: Compositions for enhanced UV-protective agents that increase immuno-responsiveness by providing cytoprotective additives for mammalian skin while also providing avoidance from endocrine disrupting agents are described. A composition comprising:(a) at least one inorganic sun-blocking agent, (b) optionally at least one non-endocrine disrupting sunscreen agent, (c) at least one non-endocrine disrupting emollient with or mixtures thereof and (d) an optional oil component comprising a carrier oil, preferably an essential oil of a naturally occurring substance and a method of making this and other versions of similar compositions is detailed. The compositions areas shown to be capable of protecting skin and mammalian health from the harmful effects of radiation including ultraviolet light or sunlight by inhibiting the loss of skin immunocompetency and eliminating any endocrine disrupting agents normally utilized as sunscreen agents.

  • Patent number: 6639152
Abstract: The present invention includes a high performance communications cable that includes core support-separators which define clearance channels to maintain spacing between transmission media or transmission media pairs. The core support-separator can be either interior to a cable jacket or be employed singularly without the benefit of a jacket and extends along the longitudinal length of the communications cable. Alternatively, with no jacket for cable completion, a thin layer of material along the exterior of the support-separator acts as a type of skin for mechanical protection. The core support-separator has a central region that includes flap-tops along the radial edge that are available for partial or complete sealing of the clearance channels during manufacturing operations. The central region may also include a hollow center portion. Each of the defined clearance channels allow for disposal therein of metal conductors and/or optical fibers.
