Abstract: A transdermal analgesic applicator configured to provide a visual signal subsequent sufficient absorption of an analgesic compound ensuing the transdermal analgesic applicator being applied to the skin of a patient. The transdermal analgesic applicator includes a first layer that is impermeable and has integrally formed therewith on at least a portion thereof a plurality of microcapsules containing a thermochromic dye mixture. The first layer having the portion of microcapsules presents a first color at ambient room temperature and a second color at temperature greater than the first temperature as a result of being placed on the skin of a patient. A second layer containing an analgesic compound is secured to the first layer. The first layer changes from the first color to the second color subsequent the first layer changing from the first temperature to the second temperature, which the rate of temperature change is approximately equivalent to the absorption rate of the analgesic compound.

Abstract: A pickup truck bed having a tailgate operable to slidably stow underneath the floor of the pickup truck bed. The pickup truck bed further includes a first channel and a second channel integrally formed into the bed to facilitate the positioning of the tailgate such that the tailgate can be stowed underneath the floor of the bed. The tailgate further includes a plurality of wheels operable to engage the first channel and the second channel so as to slidably move the tailgate such that the tailgate is substantially underneath the floor of the pickup truck bed. The tailgate further includes a first attachment pin and a second attachment pin that are operable to pivotally transition the tailgate from a closed position to an open position. The first attachment pin and second attachment pin are further configured to be retractable so as to facilitate the tailgate being slidably transitioned such that the tailgate is underneath the floor of the pickup truck bed.

Abstract: An animal leash that is operable to be surroundably mounted proximate a user's waist wherein the animal leash is configured to allow the animal tethered thereto to move in a first direction and a second direction. The first direction permitted by the animal is such that the animal can move generally away or towards the user. A second direction is further allowed such that the animal can traverse in a circular direction about the user. The animal leash further includes a belt having a longitudinal track disposed therein. Captively engaged with the track is the wheel assembly, which is configured to traverse along the track. A connections module is secured to the wheel assembly and is intermediate the wheel assembly and the leash container. The connection assembly functions to disengage the leash assembly upon a substantial force being applied thereto. The leash container houses a spring-biased reel, which stores the leash. A plurality of pockets are further included which are integrally formed into the belt.

Abstract: An ear cleaning device that creates a negative pressure within the patient's ear to draw fluid thereinto and provide cleansing thereof so as to substantially reduce the risk of damage to the tympanic membrane. The ear cleaning device includes a first container and a second container mechanically operably coupled together and in general axial alignment. Additionally, an ear chamber is included that is operably intermediate the first container and the second container. The ear chamber further includes a membrane to create a hermetic seal around a patient's ear. The first container is configured to receive a store a desired cleaning fluid. Operably coupled to the second container is a pressure reducing device. The ear cleaning device utilizes a hermetic seal between the second container, ear chamber and first container to transport the fluid from the first container into the ear chamber wherein the fluid is introduced in the ear canal of the patient and is subsequently collected within the second container.

Abstract: A system and method for designing a plurality of customized embodiments of petal window valances utilizing an on-line design interface. The system includes an on-line design server that is connected to at least one client computer via a network. The on-line design server provides the customer with a process to enable the creation of a customized petal window valance that is derived from the inputs of the customer as the customer utilizes the process. During particular steps of the design process, the on-line design server provides choices for the customer wherein the customer must select at least on of the provided choices. The on-line design server includes a plurality of databases of design elements contain therein and are provided to the customer different design elements that can be selected to create the customized embodiment.

Abstract: A basketball training device that simulates the presence of a defensive player more specifically the hand of a defensive player so as to provide practice shooting a basketball with at least a partially restricted view of the basketball goal. The basketball training device further includes a support pad that is releasably secured proximate the lower torso region of the user utilizing an adjustable strap. Movably connected to the support pad is a first support member and a second support member. The second support member is hingedly attached to the first support member. The basketball training device further includes a visual inhibitor movably attached to the second support member opposite the first support member. Operably coupled to the second support member distal to the first support member is an activation cord. The activation cord is further connected at the opposing end to at least one finger of the user's dominant shooting hand.

Abstract: A scent notification system operably coupled to a conventional cellular phone wherein the scent notification system is configured to alert the cellular phone user to an incoming communication via dispersal of a fluid having a specific aromatic property. The scent notification system further includes a housing that is operably coupled to the cellular phone. The housing has an interior volume that has contained therein at least one cartridge containing a fluid and an expansion chamber operably coupled thereto. The cartridge further includes a propellant to propel the fluid from the cartridge to the expansion chamber where the fluid converts to a gaseous phase and then propagates out of the expansion chamber via a nozzle.

Abstract: A curling iron operable to protect a portion of the user's skin that is adjacent the heating element from incidental contact with the heating element. The curling iron further includes a handle that is integrally mounted to the heating element. A shield is slidably mounted to the handle and is configured to be deployed to substantially extend the length of the heating element. The shield is further configured to be rotatable about the circumference of the heating element so as to maintain a position such that the shield is intermediate the heating element and the user's skin.

Abstract: A grass cutting device operable to sever at least a portion of a blade of grass wherein the grass cutting device utilizes stationary blades and is slidably traversed across a lawn. The grass cutting device further includes a bin having a plurality of walls configured to receive and store grass clippings therein. Operably coupled to the bin proximate the front wall is a clipping guide member. The clipping guide member functions to transfer grass clippings from the blade assembly into the bin. The blade assembly is mounted to the clipping guide member distal to the bin. The blade assembly further includes a plurality of triangular shaped blades with alternately intermediate dividers. The dividers function to partition a section of grass of a lawn into a smaller portion as the section of grass enters the blade assembly in order to facilitate severing of at least a portion of the blades of grass when contacted by the plurality of blades.

Abstract: A bathtub cushion for configured to be disposed within a bathtub at least partially filled with a liquid for providing comfort and support to a user superposed thereon. The bathtub cushion includes a plurality of integrated sections with at least one of the sections being non-buoyant to substantially inhibit the section from floating. The sections further include three layers with one layer being comprised of a non-buoyant gel. The bathtub cushion further includes a plurality of suction cups for releasably securing the bathtub cushion within a bathtub. Additionally provided is a lumbar support pad for supporting the lumbar region of a user superposed on the bathtub cushion.
