  • Patent number: 4844450
Abstract: An exercise device for simulated swimming strokes is disclosed. A cabinet supported on a frame serves as a base and has a body supporting platform thereabove, one portion supporting the torso and parallel duplicate hinge portions supporting the legs of the user. The user's arms reciprocate cable means and the user's legs reciprocate pivotal push rods extending into the cabinetry for rotating power consuming means comprising independent arm and leg powered fly wheels respectively connected to arm and leg powered means.

  • Patent number: 4838910
Abstract: An air driven filtration system is disclosed. The system includes a power module housing, an air driven motor and a removable filter pack. The power module is adapted to receive an intake adapter for connecting a remote filter pack thereto which may be placed in a contaminated work area. The remote filter pack is connected to the power module by flexible ducting.

  • Patent number: 4830334
Abstract: In a flow regulator which is operated by axially compressing the two ends of a resilient cylindrical plug causing the plug to swell and expand outwardly to interrupt flow of natural gas and the like, a stress ring is disclosed. In the preferred embodiment, the stress ring is formed of between eight and 36, preferably being about 24, individual wedge shaped segments having equal angles of inclusion and each segment has a surrounding angled tab segment, the tabs collectively encircling the resilient plug. The tabs form a ring which confines the plug so that radial expansion outwardly and contraction inwardly is accomplished while reducing stress concentration. Moreover, the several segments are all joined to the resilient plug by suitable fastening means such as pins inserted through the segments and into the resilient plug.

  • Patent number: 4823598
Abstract: A precision gas metering apparatus is disclosed and comprises facing duplicate cylinders each having a piston therein, wherein the two cylinders are aligned with one another so that a common non-rotating shaft moves pistons in each. The shaft is driven by a stepping motor having a traveling nut connected to said shaft to impart rotation from the motor which is converted into linear movement of the shaft. With suitable valves and a pressure transducer, gas to be measured is delivered first to one volume and then to the other, the pistons being driven to equalize in flowing gas pressure to atmospheric pressure level, and thereafter summing the total volumetric filling by summing each filling of each chamber, and also summing any partial fillings. A pressure transducer assures that the filled chambers are held to a specified volume.

  • Patent number: 4821772
Abstract: A dual active selector valve is set forth. In the preferred and illustrated embodiment, a flange supporting a manifold body is attached to a pressure vessel. The passage through the flange has a selected diameter and the manifold body opens out to a larger diameter, sufficient to enable two valves to be connected side by side, having inlet passages equal in diameter to about one half the selected diameter. A rotatable conduit member is mounted within the manifold body having a centrally located pin for rotation, the rotatable portion incorporating separate flow passages selectively connecting to one of the two alternately deployed valves, and also supporting a valve closure plate to plug the passageway into the valve not being used.
