  • Patent number: 4199178
Abstract: A door latch includes a plate member secured to the door jamb and extending therefrom generally parallel with one side of the door in its closed position. A stud on the plate member extends through an opening in the door in the closed position thereof and has an end portion projecting beyond the other side of the door. The end portion of the stud is bifurcated by having an open-ended slot formed therein.

  • Patent number: 4197054
Abstract: A fan blade is attached to the shaft of an induction motor by means of a spring clip seated in a groove in the shaft resiliently and frictionally clamping the fan blade against a flat surface of a member secured to the shaft, such as the rotor end ring, thereby providing a perpendicular relationship between the fan blade and shaft and, when the end ring is used, abstracting heat from the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4195768
Abstract: An internal pinion revolution counter includes a bearing member rotatably supporting an input shaft. At least first and second number wheels are provided each having a radially outwardly extending web portion joined to an annular flange portion, the first and second number wheel flange portions respectively extending toward each other. Each web portion has an annular bearing surface which defines a central opening. The flange portion of the first number wheel has an internal gear segment and cooperating internal locking cam formed thereon, and the flange portion of the second number wheel has an internal full tooth gear formed thereon. The first number wheel is connected to the input shaft for rotation therewith. A pinion carrier is arranged within the center opening in the web portion of the second number wheel, surrounds the input shaft, and is secured against rotation with respect to the input shaft.

  • Patent number: 4194271
Abstract: A plate-like housing is adapted to be secured to a wallet, or other pocket-sized valuable, and has formed therein a channel which is substantially transverse to the direction of the article or valuable withdrawal from a clothing pocket, or the like. A pair of slides are reciprocably movable in the channel and are spring-urged outwardly from the article in a transverse direction so that the slide ends are engageable with opposite sides of the pocket confines when the slides are in their extended or outermost positions. The respective ends of the slides each carry a pivotally mounted wing which cammingly engage the opposite sides of the pocket confines, thus increasing the slide dimension in the transverse direction, upon attempted withdrawal of the article from the pocket.

  • Patent number: 4192418
Abstract: An auger conveyer having an elongated auger shaft with closely spaced spirally wound bristles having their base ends affixed to the shaft and having the bristle tips extending outwardly from the shaft. A tubular housing extends from the input end of the spiral to the output end. The shaft is mounted for rotation about the shaft axis and when rotated conveys particles, such as grain, from the input end to the output end. The first several spiral flights of bristles at the input end are filled with a plastic material to solidify the bristles and form a substantially solid spiral to inhibit particle expulsion which otherwise would be caused by the bristles.

  • Patent number: 4192539
Abstract: A stand-up trash retrieving and dumping device includes an elongated, tubular handle member and a flat spatula member attached to one end of the handle member and forming an obtuse angle with respect thereto. An elongated, flat, arm element has one end pivotally connected to the spatula member adjacent the one end of the handle member for pivotal movement between closed and open positions. The other end of the arm element is adapted to engage the spatula member in the closed position thereof and the arm element has an outwardly curved portion between its ends for grasping an enlarged object. The arm element has an enlarged hook portion integral with its outer end adapted to engage an abutment thereby to move the arm element to its open position. An elongated flexible element has one end connected to the hook portion and extends through part of the handle member.

  • Patent number: 4191168
Abstract: A base plate having a predetermined perimetral configuration supports a planar coil of tubing surrounding a central space and overlying the plate. A core reflector having a reflective surface is fitted within the central space and is attached to the plate centrally thereof. A base of low thermal conductivity has the same configuration as the plate and underlies the plate in congruity therewith. A transparent enclosure defines a dead air space above the coil and has a flange with the same configuration as and overlies said plate. A frame having channel shaped sides slidably receives the edge portions of the contiguous plate, base and enclosure to maintain the edges superposed to provide for an insulated chamber for the coil. The tubing has interiorly thereof a pair of oppositely extending vanes which are spirally configured along the tube length to cause rotation of the fluid moving through the tube so that the fluid will be evenly heated.

  • Patent number: 4188876
Abstract: Method and apparatus for compressing or compacting junk vehicle bodies and the like is disclosed wherein a crushing machine has a frame with a generally horizontally disposed bed and a plurality of upright supports extending from the bed to at least one generally horizontal beam which connects the ends of the upright supports remote from the bed to form a generally rectangular framework with a longitudinal vehicle accepting aperture therethrough. A pair of arms are hinged to the frame at opposite sides of the opening and pivot between generally vertical and generally horizontal positions with a portion of one arm overlapping a portion of the other. The arms are actuated by hydraulic cylinders and are independently movable so that they may be overlapped in either order when in their horizontal positions.
