  • Patent number: 5329710
Abstract: A foldable table top for converting an ironing board to a utility table comprises equivalent rectangular sections coupled together by a flexible hinge. Two handles on opposite ends of the table top latch together to hold the table top in a folded position for storage and transportation. The handles double as attachment brackets that pivot beneath the ironing board deck, snugly receiving each end of the deck within a recess to sandwich the ends between the handles and the bottom of the table top. If the ironing board has adjustable legs, the resulting utility table may be lowered or raised to the extent of the adjustment of the ironing board legs for the convenience of the user.

  • Patent number: 5291844
Abstract: A clew constructed from carbon fiber composite is provided for a sailboard boom, the clew having a pair of cylinders having longitudinal axes and connected together by a trapezoidal central flange having substantially equal non-parallel sides connected to the cylinders parallel to their axes to secure them in a predetermined relative angle. The crew further includes holes through the central flange and notches in the rear edge of the flange for attachment of a lanyard or tie line rope that loops through the holes, around sheaves on the sail and through the notches which secure the end of the lanyard while permitting it to quickly be released for adjustment of sail trim. The clew further comprises a spring pin slot transverse each cylinder that interfaces with a an aft spring pin in a telescoping adjustment tube, the slot facilitating adjustment of the tube within the arm of the boom because the slot allows rotation of the tube without removal from the clew.

  • Patent number: 5280904
Abstract: A display for a football goal post comprises a net spanning the space between the uprights of the goal post, the net bearing a message. The message may be advertising, spirit booster information, team identification or the like, and it may be illuminated. Trip wires laced through and attached to the net detect contact with the net by a football, indicating successful penetration of the plane formed by the uprights and therefore a score. A trip signal from switches attached to the trip wires triggers for a predetermined period a flashing, illuminated display attached to the net, such as the illuminated message or separate chase lights around the perimeter of the net.
