Abstract: The present invention provides a Drosophila melanogaster GPCR (DmGPCR) polypeptides and polynucleotides which identify and encode such a DmGPCR. In addition, the invention provides expression vectors, host cells and methods for its production. The invention also provides methods for the identification of homologs in other animals, and of DmGPCR agonists/antagonists, useful for the treatment of diseases in animals and for the control of insects that are injurious or harmful to plants or animals.

Abstract: The present invention provides polynucleotides encoding human RNAse III and polypeptides encoded thereby. Methods of using said polynucleotides and polypeptides are also provided.
Abstract: The present invention provides genes encoding novel matrix metalloproteinases termed MMP; constructs and recombinant host cells incorporating the genes; the MMP polypeptides encoded by the genes; antibodies to the MMP polypeptides; and methods of making and using all of the foregoing.
Abstract: The Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) NS3 protein contains amino acid motifs of a serine proteinase, a nucleotide triphosphatase (NTPase), and an RNA helicase. A carboxy fragment of the HCV NS3 protein was purified and possessed RNA helicase activity. Detections from the amino terminus resulted in the protein becoming soluble. Deletions from the carboxy terminus do not result in a loss of helicase activity until at least 50 amino acids are deleted. The helicase activity requires ATP and divalent cations such as Mg2+ and Mn2+. The helicase activity was blocked by monoclonal antibody specific to the HCV NS3 protein.

Abstract: The present invention provides conjugate compounds comprising at least one heat shock protein or portion thereof including at least one immunostimulatory domain and at least one capsular oligosaccharide or polysaccharide of a pathogenic bacteria. The compound comprises oligosaccharides of the Meningococci C (MenC) group and a heat shock protein selected from M. bovis BCG GroE1-type 65 kDa hsp (hspR65), recombinant M. tuberculosis DnaK-type 70 kDa hsp (hspR70) and a heat shock protein from H. pylori. The invention also provides processes for producing conjugate compounds, pharmaceutical compositions comprising conjugate compounds, therapeutic compositions comprising conjugate compounds, and methods of inducing an immune response.
