Abstract: A tile wall cover for electrical outlet boxes includes a ringlike flat plate having a large central opening therethrough. A ringlike extension is secured to the plate around the opening. The extension is formed from a pair of substantially identical generally U-shaped members each having a base and opposite first and second legs. The first leg on each member has an offset terminal end portion which is offset toward the second leg a distance generally equal to the thickness of the material from which the member is made to form a rabbet on the outer surface of the first leg. The pair of members are reversely positioned with the rabbet on the first leg of each member receiving the terminal end portion of the second leg on the other member.

Abstract: A support member on an electrical floor box or the like includes an opening receiving a cover formed in two parts having mating walls defining a joining line extending across the opening. The outer peripheral walls of the cover parts on opposite sides of the joining line have outwardly extending detents releasably received in recesses in the support member. The outer surfaces of the cover parts have rabbets formed therein adjacent the opposite ends of the joining line, and abutments on the support member are received in the rabbets.

Abstract: A clamping holder for busbars includes a base member having at least one projection, opening and clamping surface all located and shaped for reversible positioning of a pair of the base members with the projection on each received in the opening in the other, and with the clamping surfaces in spaced-apart facing relationship to define a part receiving aperture in which a busbar or other part is clamped and held.

Abstract: A joint for electrical conductors includes a connecting member having a longitudinal groove therein for receiving joining portions on a pair of electrical conductors. Biasing means carried by the conductors act against the groove bottom for biasing joining surfaces on the conductors into firm engagement with joining groove surfaces. The joint accommodates longitudinal thermal expansion and contraction of busbars or the like.

Abstract: A molded box and lid have peripheral walls with opposite draft. The lid has hinge means for inward bending movement of at least portions of the lid sidewalls into hugging relationship with the outer upper surfaces of the box peripheral wall to compensate for the gap created by opposing draft angles.

Abstract: A plug-in jack for electrical busways or the like comprises a generally T-shaped housing of electrical insulating material including an enlarged head portion having a top end and a width substantially greater than its thickness. A plurality of spaced-apart electrical contact buttons extend outwardly from the top end of the head. The housing includes a base portion opposite from the head portion and having attaching means thereon for attaching the base portion to a junction box or the like. The base portion is integrally formed and connected with a relatively narrow neck portion which is integrally formed and connected with the head portion. Releasable locking means is carried by the housing intermediate the head and base portions for releasably locking the head portion in an opening. The housing is formed in two housing parts which are joined together along a joining line.

Abstract: A locking device for a reciprocating rod brake actuator movable between brake applying and brake releasing positions includes a pivoted pawl movable between locking and releasing positions for releasably locking the rod in its brake applying position. A spring normally biases the pawl to its locking position, and a fluid cylinder is operative when pressurized for moving the locking device to its releasing position. The rod is movable toward and away from the pawl, and is normally supported against movement away from the pawl by a releasable support. Release of the support frees the rod for free movement between its brake applying and releasing positions even though the pawl is in its locking position.

Abstract: An electrical connector including selective polarization keying between the ground pin contact and ground socket contact. A rotatable sleeve around the ground socket contact selectively locks the ground pin contact in position or prevents insertion thereof when a circuit breaker is on.

Abstract: A hydraulic booster has its piston located in a normal passive position so that hydraulic fluid supplied to the cylinder through an inlet port enters the cylinder on both sides of the piston. Normally open valve means establishes communication through the piston from one side thereof to the other, and operating means is provided for closing the valve means and moving the piston past the inlet port to a position wherein hydraulic fluid flows through the inlet port into the cylinder on only one side of the piston. The normally open valve means includes an elongated valve sleeve slidably mounted in a piston bore having an enlarged intermediate portion defining a cavity surrounding the sleeve member. The sleeve member has a large external area within the cavity facing in one direction than in the other direction, and a leakage path is provided for communication of the cavity with the cylinder on one side of the piston.

Abstract: A pressure converter for converting and intensifying pneumatic pressure to hydraulic pressure includes a pneumatic piston movable in a cylinder and connected by a rod with a smaller hydraulic piston. The pneumatic piston is movable from a rest position to normal working positions. Indicator means includes a first electrically operated signal and a second visual signal for respectively indicating overtravel and degree of overtravel of the pneumatic piston beyond the normal working positions. The pneumatic piston is engageable with the indicator means upon movement of such piston beyond its normal working positions for actuating the electrically operated signal and the visual signal.

Abstract: A flexible joint for conduit includes inner and outer conduit members having telescoped end portions. The end portion on one member has a generally spherical surface portion facing toward the end portion of the other member and lying generally on the surface of a sphere having a sphere center intersecting the longitudinal axis of the one member. Sealing means extends from the other conduit member in sealing engagement with the spherical surface portion. Diagonally opposite pivot connections pivotally connect to the two members on a pivot axis which intersects the sphere center. The sealing means remains sealingly engaged with the spherical surface portion during limited pivotal movement of the two conduit members relative to one another about the pivot axis.

Abstract: An automatic adjuster for an adjustable brake mechanism movable in normal travel, undertravel and overtravel. The adjuster includes first adjusting means operative upon undertravel of the brake mechanism for loosening same, and second adjusting means operative upon overtravel of the brake mechanism for tightening same. The first and second adjusting means are inoperative to adjust the brake mechanism during normal travel of such mechanism.

Abstract: A mounting arrangement for electrical outlet boxes or the like includes a generally U-shaped clip having a longitudinal axis and a generally flat base extending substantially perpendicular to the axis. A fastener receiving aperture extends through the base, and opposite legs diverge outwardly from the base at included angles with the base greater than 90.degree. and substantially less than 180.degree.. The legs are yieldably deformable toward the longitudinal axis and have inwardly extending clamping portions adjacent the terminal ends thereof. The legs include terminal end portions extending outwardly from the clamping portions.

Abstract: A fuel filter bypass valve assembly includes a valve body having inlet and opposite sides. A movable member is peripherally sealed to the opposite side, and moves toward and away therefrom to define a variable volume chamber. Port means extends past the valve body for establishing communication between such chamber and the valve body inlet side. Yieldable biasing means is connected with the movable member for normally biasing same toward the valve body opposite side and biasing the entire assembly in a direction for positioning the inlet side against a valve seat. Cooperating stop means between the movable member and valve body limits movement of such movable member away from the valve body opposite side. The movable member and valve body are proportioned so that the pressure required to move the movable member away from the valve body against the force of the biasing means is substantially less than the pressure required to move the valve body away from the valve seat against the force of the biasing means.
