  • Patent number: 5493774
Abstract: A process and apparatus are provided for assembling two, mating, threaded containers. The threaded end of the first container is disposed in the threaded port of the second container. The second container is clamped to prevent rotation of the second container. A cam is rotated to engage a torque-applying assembly to produce relative movement between the clamp assembly and the torque-applying assembly. This effects sequential engagement and disengagement of the torque-applying assembly and the first container. The torque-applying assembly is rotated relative to the clamp assembly while engaged with the first container to effect threaded engagement of the containers.

  • Patent number: 5488960
Abstract: A coronary sinus catheter introducer system in which an introducer is installed in the right atrium of the cardiovascular system of a patient for delivery of a coronary sinus catheter into the coronary sinus. A bend near the distal end of the introducer enables placement of the end of the introducer into the coronary sinus opening and within the coronary sinus. A soft pliable tip end provided on the introducer minimizes abrasion of the coronary sinus and its opening by the introducer.

  • Patent number: 5431627
Abstract: A identification system for a cassette pump wherein a plurality of different types of cassettes administer different types of drugs, and each type of cassette is characterized by a different type determinative indicia carried by the cassette, and the cassette pump includes a prime mover for actuating the plurality of different types of cassettes corresponding number of different operating modes, each operating mode being used with a corresponding different type of cassette, wherein the pump-cassette interface for receiving and actuating each of the different types of cassettes includes a sensor disposed at the pump-cassette interface, and when the sensor is engaged by the type determinative indicia of a cassette, the pump is able to identify the particular type cassette inserted into the pump, and initiate the operating mode of the pump associated with the specific type of cassette positioned at the pump-cassette interface.

  • Patent number: 4960214
Abstract: A cassette storage basket configured for mounting on a rack mounted storage system. A wire-form basket includes an open front defined by a rectangular frame, with the frame rearwardly tilted to give the basket a triangular profile. A rear wall of the basket incorporates at least one upper hook and a rearwardly extending lower abutment to tilt the bottom of the rack-mounted basket from the horizontal to protect cassettes stored in the basket during transport.

  • Patent number: 4124290
Abstract: A stack of documents are transported one-at-a-time, under control of an automatic machine. A machine readable card is inserted between preselected documents in the stack. When the transport detects a passage of the card through the transport system, the machine is commanded to perform a specific function. The exemplary machine described herein is a microfilm camera, and the illustrative functions are two side copying and batch or file marking.

  • Patent number: 4110020
Abstract: An electronically controlled photographic image utilization device is arranged to transport a roll of microfilm having all images printed thereon in separate photographic areas, each area being arranged in a microfiche-type format. The photographic image utilization device has an automatic call-up feature so that any given photographic area may be selected and projected responsive to the push of a button, the operation of a rotary switch or both. A special bar code is printed along the edge of the film and used in conjunction with a closed loop film control system to eliminate the need for precise, clock controlled synchronization between the film transport and the code reading. Preferably, the bar code is read by optical electronic sensors. Responsive thereto, the electronic control system accurately positions a selected photographic image, on the microfilm, within a viewing area.
