Abstract: An applicator is provided for use in placing skin products on a person's body, particularly the recessed areas of the back. The applicator comprises an elongated rectangular strip of flexible material having finger holes at each end. One side of the strip has a non-absorbent, thinner layer of lesser elasticity to which lotion or the like is applied. The other side is a thicker layer of greater elasticity, laminated to the thinner layer. The elasticities are such that when the strip is tensioned, the strip will bulge so that the lotion-receiving layer will contact a recessed area of the body.

Abstract: A filter for liquids is disclosed, which has a base with a central inlet, and an outlet, a central post with a filtering element surrounding and sealing therewith, a cannister enclosing the element and releasably sealed to the base, a passageway in the post, which is sealed to the inlet, and which has means to permit upward flow but inhibit downward flow or drip. This retains the liquid in the cannister and element when drawn upwardly, to prevent drip or spillage, or when lowered to provide a full prime. A method of removing the filtering element without drip, and a method of installing a primed element are also disclosed.
Abstract: A commercially obtainable miter or radial saw having a planar work support is mounted in a cut-out made in the top of a conventional shop bench or table by a saw support, which when attached to the table top and adjusted, will bring the top of the saw work support into alignment with the top of the table to form a continuous surface. A fence carrying an adjustable work stop and a scale may be mounted on either or both sides of the saw so as to be continuous with the fence originally, or otherwise, supplied with the saw.
Abstract: This invention provides a tool for effective removal of mats of hair in the coats of fur-bearing animals. The tool is particularly effective in removing mats from long-haired dogs, while preserving most of the original hair in the original length. The tool consists of a handle and a set of blades suitable for cutting and combind the mats. The blades cut the mat into narrow strips in a single operation, while tines attached to the blades rake or comb the uncut hair in the strips and remove the cut hair. The blades present a smooth, non-cutting surface to the animal's skin, and provide for easy removal of the accumulated hair from the tool. The animal's comfort and the required grooming time are improved, as compared to prior grooming practice.
Abstract: A means to connect a hypodermic syringe to its bottle of medicament, so that the syringe is in proper alignment to pierce the bottle sealing diaphragm. The means also holds the syringe to the bottle so that a measured amount of medicament may be withdrawn. Also included are sealing caps to retain full sterility of all elements during use and also non-use. The means permits the entire volume of the medicament to be withdrawn in a plurality of measured doses.
Abstract: An optical method for alignment of paper when making corrections and additions to previously typed or printed sheets is described. A light spot is projected which indicates the exact point of type impact on the sheet. The paper can then be moved until the spot falls onto the desired area. The system can also be used for margin and end-of-page signalling.
