Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, a software application, and a computer-based apparatus for initially establishing communication with a device on a local area network (LAN) in a substantially automated manner. A broadcast discovery request is transmitted over the network and the network is monitored for responses from devices connected to the network. A responding device is selected and a determination is made as to if a primary IP address of the selected device is within a predetermined subnet. Otherwise, a determination is made as to if a current alternate IP address of the selected device is within the predetermined subnet. Otherwise, a new alternate IP address is generated and may be conditionally assigned to the selected device. One of the primary IP address, the current alternate IP address, or the new alternate IP address is used to connect to the selected device for the purpose of communicating with the selected device.
Abstract: An electric arc welder power supply housing assembly is described in which it is possible to clean internal component parts is achieved by positioning cooling components on a rail system. The rail system may include at least one telescoping track assembly. When the telescoping track assembly is engaged, the housing assembly is in an open position, thus providing access for the maintenance of internal components therein without having to disassemble unnecessary components or parts of the welding power supply.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for generating coordinated video content for display. The apparatus takes video signals from independent sources and allows a user to select portions of the video signals, corresponding to desired portions of video content to be displayed, and combines those video signal portions into a single composite video signal. The composite video signal may be displayed, for example, on a television screen showing the desired portions of video content.
Abstract: A box for shipping and dispensing a welding wire wound into a generally cylindrical mass having a cylindrical core cavity concentric with a vertical axis. The box has four sidewalls with an integral generally triangular flap where at least one of the flaps has an upper generally square crown section with a wire outlet opening. The flaps have a folded down position wherein they overlap each other in a flat plane above the wire mass and an assembled up position defining a four sided pyramid shaped tent above the wire mass, with the crown section assembled in a plane generally parallel to the flat plane and at least 6.0 inches above the flat plane with the wire outlet opening aligned with the axis.
Abstract: Microprocessor-controlled light emitting diode (LED) arrays are built into an extruded tubular lens within a mast that is connected to a base assembly. A means of mounting, which may be an adjustable clamp, permits the base assembly to be connected to a seat post or other mounting point on a bicycle or other vehicle. The tubular lens allows for substantial dispersion of light, and various light patterns produced by the arrays may be selected and those patterns alternated automatically to achieve greater visibility of the vehicle to surrounding motorists. A handle within the base assembly allows a rider to lower the mast from its vertical operating position easily and pivotally up to 90 degrees parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle frame to facilitate mounting and dismounting the vehicle.
Abstract: A welding system is provided, in which two electrodes are directed at a joint between two work pieces and the electrodes are energized with DC pulse or AC welding waveforms at a controlled waveform phase angle. The systems include a synchronizing controller to synchronize the welding waveforms, and a work point allocation system provides one or more work point values to the welding machines to provide synergic control of the welding according to a user selected system work point value or parameter. The systems and methods further provide for synchronized work point value modulation for the opposite sides of a dual fillet weld. The system and method further provide a high energy heat source that directs intense heat at a portion of the weld joint to improve weld penetration.
Abstract: A well car for carrying shipping containers has a pair of end structures supported by rail car trucks, a pair of first and second spaced apart side beams extending between the end structures and a well defined therebetween. A container support cross member is mounted between the side sills in a position to support an end of a shipping container load carried within the well. The container support cross member may be a monolithic beam member with a attachment fitting formed at an end thereof. The attachment fitting is connectable to a side sill at a moment connection. The remaining end of the cross member is similarly configured and connected to the second side sill. Each end of the cross member has load bearing surface portions which may be used for supporting a corner of a shipping container. The moment connections permit a bending moment to be carried by the cross member between the first and second side sills.
Abstract: A system for automating service operations at a well includes a service rig having at least one input device, an engine connected to an engine electronic control unit having a engine controller area network, a plurality of crown sheeves, a cable, an output device, a communication infrastructure, and at least one of a computer and an operator station; at least one remote server in electronic communication with the communication infrastructure; and a web portal in electronic communication with the at least one remote server.
