  • Patent number: 8172181
Abstract: An apparatus and method for improving the fuel range of an aircraft are provided. The aircraft includes a fuselage with a front windshield, and an external skin providing a top cover for a cockpit of the aircraft. The apparatus includes an aerodynamic fairing secured adjacent the windshield and enclosing the external skin covering the cockpit for a reduction in an abrupt change in area encountered by air flowing along the length of the fuselage. An enclosure is formed between the aerodynamic fairing and the external skin in which a fuel bladder, configured with a reticulated polyurethane foam insert, may be disposed for added fuel capacity of the aircraft. The method includes steps of providing an aerodynamic fairing configured to balance the flow of fluid over the aircraft during flight, and securing the aerodynamic fairing atop the aircraft and adjacent the front windshield.

  • Patent number: 8162051
Abstract: An apparatus for use in deployment of downhole tools is disclosed. Preferably, the apparatus includes at least an in-ground well casing, a housing providing a hermetically sealed electronics compartment, a tool attachment portion, and a first flow through core. The housing is preferably configured for sliding communication with the well casing. The hermetically sealed electronics compartment secures a processor and a location sensing system, which communicates with the processor while interacting exclusively with features of the well casing to determine the location of the housing within the well casing. A preferred embodiment further includes a well plug affixed to the tool attachment portion, the well plug includes a second flow through core capped with a core plug with a core plug release mechanism, which upon activation provides separation between the second flow through core and the core plug, allowing material to flow through said first and second flow through cores.

  • Patent number: 7932020
Abstract: Improvements in the fabrication of integrated circuits are driven by the decrease of the size of the features printed on the wafers. Current lithography techniques limits have been extended through the use of phase-shifting masks, off-axis illumination, and proximity effect correction. More recently, liquid immersion lithography has been proposed as a way to extend even further the limits of optical lithography. This invention described a methodology based on contact or proximity printing using a projection lens to define the image of the mask onto the wafer. As the imaging is performed in a solid material, larger refractive indices can be obtained and the resolution of the imaging system can be increased.

  • Patent number: 7934184
Abstract: An exemplary method for modifying at least part of an integrated circuit layout comprises obtaining an integrated circuit device layout, the integrated circuit device being designed using a library of cells, obtaining a modified library of cells, and replacing at least one cell in the integrated circuit device layout with a corresponding modified cell of the modified library to obtain a modified integrated circuit device layout. The modified library includes modified cells corresponding to cells in the library and candidate areas of each modified cell indicating portions of the cell for further processing. At least some of the modified cells have been modified to at least partially compensate for a manufacturing effect.

  • Patent number: 7908572
Abstract: An optical proximity correction (OPC) based integrated circuit design system and method introduce a variable rule in which rules are specified in terms of multiple correction actions that yield acceptable results. This category of rules provides more degrees of freedom in actual application so that the rule-based OPC tool can intelligently select the proper valid rule that minimizes the OPC complexity or meets other objectives.

  • Patent number: 7702586
Abstract: A method and system are provided to resolve financial problems and/or discretionary financial decisions by mortgagors and other borrowers. If a mortgage is current, then any extra money received from the mortgagor is automatically credited to a reserve account, which pays down the mortgage principal. If a mortgage payment is due but has not been paid or is only partially paid, then whatever money is needed for the mortgage payment is automatically deducted from the reserve account and applied toward the mortgage payment, thereby increasing the loan principal. As a limit, if the reserve account is depleted, the lender may commence conventional foreclosure procedures. The method and system can similarly be applied to other types of loans.

  • Patent number: 7627837
Abstract: A system and method are provided for analyzing layout patterns via simulation using a lithography model to characterize the patterns and generate rules to be used in rule-based optical proximity correction (OPC). The system and method analyze a series of layout patterns conforming to a set of design rules by simulation using a lithography model to obtain a partition of the pattern spaces into one portion that requires only rule-based OPC and another portion that requires model-based OPC. A corresponding hybrid OPC system and method are also introduced that utilize the generated rules to correct an integrated circuit (IC) design layout which reduces the OPC output complexity and improves turnaround time.

  • Patent number: 7614033
Abstract: The manufacturing of integrated circuits relies on the use of optical proximity correction (OPC) to correct the printing of the features on the wafer. The data is subsequently fractured to accommodate the format of existing mask writer. The complexity of the correction after OPC can create some issues for vector-scan e-beam mask writing tools as very small slivers are created when the data is converted to the mask write tool format. Moreover the number of shapes created after fracturing is quite large and are not related to some important characteristics of the layout like for example critical areas. A new technique is proposed where the order of the OPC and fracturing steps is reversed. The fracturing step is done first in order to guarantee that no slivers are created and that the number of shapes is minimized. The shapes created can also follow the edges of critical zones so that critical and non-critical edges can be differentiated during the subsequent OPC step.

  • Patent number: 7533363
Abstract: A system and method for integrated circuit design layout processing are disclosed to partition and extract the layout and optimize settings individually for an optimal solution to provide manufacturability enhancement. The integrated circuit design layout system and method are provided for splitting an integrated circuit layout into independent portions or pieces, which can be processed independently and reassembled together, based on prior information about the layout itself, or predefined data processing flow, which are commonly available at the time of processing individual layouts. The integrated circuit design layout system and method split the layout based on hierarchal geometry segregation rules that are derived from the layout data information or data processing flow.

  • Patent number: 7523429
Abstract: A system and method for integrated circuit design are disclosed to enhance manufacturability of circuit layouts through generation of hierarchical design rules which capture localized layout requirements. In contrast to conventional techniques which apply global design rules, the disclosed IC design system and method partition the original design layout into a desired level of granularity based on specified layout and integrated circuit properties. At that localized level, the design rules are adjusted appropriately to capture the critical aspects from a manufacturability standpoint. These adjusted design rules are then used to perform localized layout manipulation and mask data conversion.
