  • Patent number: 7213236
Abstract: The invention is a method for allowing Java objects to communicate with .Net Remoting objects, with a first step of receiving metadata information from a .Net Remoting server on a Java client. Then, Java proxies are generated from said metadata information, using a Java development tool, with the Java proxies generated by a one-to-one mapping of .Net classes to Java classes. Finally, the Java proxies are implemented on the Java client, with the method provided solely in Java. Therefore, the Java client does not require any .Net components. The method can also be used to allow .Net Remoting objects to communicate with Java objects in a similar manner.

  • Patent number: 7081996
Abstract: An isolated polarization beam splitter or combiner, for joining light from different inputs into one common port, and for dividing a beam of light into orthogonal polarizations. In both modes of operation, the splitter/combiner provides isolation preventing transmission of light in a reverse direction. As a splitter, a beam of light is separated through a birefringent material into sub-beams of orthogonal polarization components, and each sub-beam is passed through a non-reciprocal polarization rotator to rotate the polarization so that a reflected beam, or other counter-transmitted light cannot return on the same path through the birefringent material to the source. As a combiner, two separate beams of light are launched with known orthogonal polarizations into a first birefringent material, passed through a non-reciprocal polarization rotator and then combined as orthogonal polarizations into a single output port.

  • Patent number: 7058304
Abstract: Wavelength interleaving cross-connects pass a first optical signal including a first set of optical frequencies in a first direction and a second optical signal including a second set of optical frequencies in a second direction. In one embodiment, the first optical signal, when input to a first input/output (I/O) port, is routed from the first I/O port to a third I/O port. The first optical signal, when input to a fourth I/O port, is routed from the fourth port to a second I/O port. The second optical signal, when input to the second I/O port, is routed from the second I/O port to the third I/O port. The second optical signal, when input to the fourth I/O port, is routed from the fourth I/O port to the first I/O port. Thus, by coupling an optical device (e.g., amplifier, filter) between the third port and the fourth port, the optical device can be used for bi-directional communications thereby reducing the number of devices required for a bi-directional optical network architecture.

  • Patent number: 7018154
Abstract: This invention is directed towards a paint spray gun having a gun body with a male thread and having an air nozzle ring with a female thread which can be screwed onto the male thread of the gun body. The diameter of the thread is between about 30 and about 40 mm. The thread of the invention is a trapezoid thread with a flank angle in the range of about +/?20% of 30°. The thread has a thread height within the range of about +/?20% of 1.1 mm, a root to crest clearance within the range of about +/?20% of 0.1 mm and a flank clearance within the range of about +/?20% of 0.15 mm. The effect of these modifications to a standard trapezoid thread with a flank angle of about 30° is that the thread is optimally adjusted to serve as a thread connecting the body of a paint spray gun and a nozzle ring.

  • Patent number: 6998466
Abstract: A process for extracting flax protein concentrate from flax meal is disclosed wherein flax meal is added to an aqueous acidic solution to form a first mixture having a solid fraction and an aqueous fraction containing water soluble-carbohydrates. The mixture is separated and the solid fraction is then hydrolyzed using a lipolytic enzyme. An aqueous alkali solution is then added to the hydrolyzed solution to form a second mixture having a second aqueous fraction containing said flax protein, and a second solid fraction. The second mixture is then separated into the aqueous fraction and the solid fraction, such that the second aqueous fraction may be evaporated to recover the flax protein.
