Abstract: This invention relates to an agent for producing a pharmaceutical drug for postoperative use after removal of bone tumors produced from a nucleic acid by linking a known sequence for promoting bone growth and a known proteinase inhibitor by a variable spacer molecule. This linkage results in a novel bifunctional active ingredient combining both properties in a biological molecule. This invention is used in the medical field, in particular in the specialty field of orthopedics.
Abstract: A method and an apparatus are provided to demultiplex an optical signal having a plurality of channels at a predetermined channel spacing having demultiplexing means with a frequency spacing larger than the predetermined channel spacing for receiving the optical signal and for dividing the optical signal by wavelength into a plurality of wavelength streams broader than the predetermined channel spacing, time domain demultiplexing means for receiving one of the plurality of wavelength streams and for dividing the one of the plurality of wavelength streams into a plurality of time domain demultiplexed wavelength streams, and optical filtering means for demultiplexing one of the plurality of time domain demultiplexed wavelength streams into a single channel. Advantageously, splitting means are provided to split the optical signal into sub-signals before launching them into the demultiplexing means.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pet door suitable for use in a window, and more particularly to a pet door having a substantially planar profile. In at least one embodiment, the pet door includes a frame which is cooperative with stationary side panels. The frame carries a moveable door through which an animal may enter and exit. Moveable side panels are housed within, and extendible from, the stationary side panels for securing the pet door within a window frame.
Abstract: A work station having a base, a user support affixed to the base; and an overhead hanger affixed to said base. The overhead hanger has a rear portion extending upwardly behind the user support and an overhead portion extending forwardly above the user support a sufficient distance so that when a user is positioned in the user support, the overhead portion is above the user and a peripheral mounting system affixable to the overhead portion proximate a distal end of the overhead portion.

Abstract: An apparatus for scarifying an interior surface of a sewer pipe, which includes a vehicle moveable along an interior of the sewer pipe and a scarifying assembly connected to the vehicle having a fluid nozzle assembly. The fluid nozzle assembly has at least one branch with a fluid nozzle coupled to a distal end of the branch. The nozzle is positioned proximate the interior surface of the passageway. The fluid nozzle assembly is operative to rotate or oscillate and to emit a jet of fluid from the one nozzle against the interior surface of the passageway and to scarify the interior surface of the passageway as the vehicle moves along the passageway.

Abstract: An integrated circuit device comprising: a body of a first solid material having an upper surface and a major bottom surface; a pocket of a second solid material having a top surface and a side surface, and a bottom surface which contacts a selected portion of said upper surface on said body; said first and second solid materials being so selected as to form, where said pocket contacts said body at said selected portion of said upper surface, an electronic interfacial barrier which is substantially conductive under an applied bias of at least one selected polarity; and a solid electrically insulating region which meets said barrier and adjoins both said body and at least a line on said side surface of said pocket; wherein at least a part of said solid electrically insulating region comprises nitrogen located at least below the level of said electronic interfacial barrier.
