More specifically, this invention relates to a process for the production of sulfonated lubricating agent for leather and tanned furs consisting of the steps of:(a) sulfochlorinating higher fatty acids or esters of higher fatty acids having chain lengths of from 8 to 24 carbon atoms with chlorine and SO.sub.2 at a temperature of from about 20.degree. to 90.degree. C. under UV-radiation for a time sufficient to obtain a compound having a chlorine content of from about 5 to 30 percent by weight and a content of --SO.sub.2 Cl groups of from about 1 to 20 percent by weight, the ratio of chlorine atoms to --SO.sub.2 Cl groups being from about 0.7:1 to 70:1; and(b) forming a water-emulsifiable alkaimetal, ammonium, or lower-alkyl-ammonium salt of the compound produced in step (a).

More specifically, this invention relates to a method of treating cardiovascular disorders, malignancy, or thrombosis in a host in need of such treatment which comprises administering to said host a cardiovascularly, antimetastic, or antithrombotic effective amount of a composition comprised of (i) mopidamol or an acid addition salt thereof and (ii) at least one pharmacologically acceptable acid or acid substance, the total amount of acid from acid addition salt present and acid or acid substance being in a ratio of at least about 1 acid equivalent to 1 mol of mopidamol or its acid addition salt.

Abstract: A flow rate sensing device, particularly for use in regulating the rate of flow in a system for parenteral administration of liquids to patients. The liquid emerges from a storage reservoir and is fed into a housing through an upstream flow passage portion and then is made to pass through a narrow throat passage wherein the velocity of the liquid increases while its pressure decreases. The liquid then emerges into a downstream flow through passage and flows through an outlet from the housing. In an intravenous fluid administration system, the housing outlet is connected to a terminal tubing section and an intravenous needle. A pressure transducer, consisting of two chambers separated by a resilient deformable diaphragm, has its upstream chamber in fluid and pressure communication with the upstream flow path portion and its downstream chamber in fluid and pressure communication with the flow emerging from the throat passage.

The compounds of formula I are useful for treatment and prophylaxis of diseases of the coronaries, for the treatment of hypertension, and for treatment of cardiac arrhythmia, particularly tachycardia.
