Abstract: Landing gear mount techniques for aircraft are described. The landing gear is mounted to composite structures of the aircraft in a manner that distributes landing loads, including out-of-plane loads, adequately so that the landing gear and its mounting to the aircraft is tough and can withstand variable landing loads. The landing gear is disposed between and fastened on each side to composite bulkheads. The composite bulkheads are also bonded to the outer skins of the aircraft. The described mounting distributes the loads into the composite bulkheads and from there into the outer skins. This distribution of the loading helps the landing gear withstand variable landing loads and helps maintain the integrity of the composite materials.
Abstract: A printer that provides improved image placement on documents including identification documents such as identification cards, credit and debit cards, and the like, and passports. The printer eliminates blind moves and mechanism errors to achieve repeatable image placement on the document surface with the correct horizontal image placement dimension. The printer senses an edge of the document to immediately initiate printing. The edge of the document can be either the leading edge or the trailing edge. The edge of the document can also be sensed by a separate sensor to initiate movement of a print head of the print station toward a print position.

The main body is provided with a shell, an inner cavity of the shell is provided with a steam generating device, and the inner cavity of the shell is further provided with a dust absorbing device, and wherein the dust absorbing device includes a telescopic dust absorbing head, and the shell or the handle is provided with a switch for controlling the dust absorbing head to be telescopic and absorb the dust. The shell of the steam cleaner is internally provided with the dust absorbing device with the telescopic dust absorbing head; and the switch controls the dust absorbing head to be telescopic and absorb the dust.
Abstract: An audio/video information recording/reproducing device capable of easily implementing a post-recording function on an optical disk by using even a low-cost disk drive having a comparatively low-speed seek time. When recording a video file, it is recorded on an optical disk continuously for a duration equivalent to more than three times a seek time. When recording dubbing audio, it is recorded continuously only with constant data size at the same time with the reproducing of the recorded video file, thereby enabling concurrent real-time continuous reproducing and recording. Accordingly, concurrent reproductions of a video file and an audio file are ensured when reproducing dubbing audio.
Abstract: A pompon making tool includes a first member and a second member to be superposed on each other. The first member includes a pair of arms movable relative to each other, and each arm includes an arcuate portion. Likewise, the second member includes a pair of arms movable relative to each other, and each arm includes an arcuate portion. The arcuate portions of the first and the second member each include a base plate portion, and a pair of thread support portions spaced apart from each other in the width direction of the base plate portion. The thread support portions each include a top portion on the outer side of the base plate portion and extend in the longitudinal direction of the arcuate portion.
Abstract: A system and method to selectively isolate one or more unprotected computer devices from the rest of the computer system and/or from the network. The ability to isolate and/or authenticate the software and/or hardware on or interacting with the unprotected software and/or hardware provides for a secured system despite the presence or use of an unprotected computer device.

Abstract: An optical processor that incorporates optical computing in a monolithic, i.e. single unit, structure that can take the place of, or operate as a coprocessor with, traditional processor devices such as vector processors, digital signal processors, RISCs, CISCs, ASICs, FPGAs among others. The optical processor incorporates photonic devices that perform algorithmic functions on optical signals. The optical processor takes one or more incoming digital signals, converts the digital signal into an optical signal, performs the algorithmic function(s) in the optical domain, and then converts the result back into a digital signal, all in a monolithic or single unit structure.
Abstract: A bird feeder apparatus, which utilizes an elastic member to removably secure a removable bottom end portion to a feed storage chamber of the feeder apparatus. In one embodiment, the removable bottom end portion is a feed tray and in another embodiment the removable bottom end portion is a bottom end cap of the feed storage chamber.
Abstract: A touch interface that includes a plurality of push-buttons, each of which has a first stage portion and a second stage portion. A display screen displays a plurality of display items each of which is associated with a corresponding one of the push-buttons. Activation of the first stage portion of one of the push-buttons causes the corresponding display item on the screen to highlight thereby indicating to the user that the push-button associated with that display item is being pressed, without launching a function associated with the display item. This allows the user to determine whether or not he is pressing the correct push-button prior to activating a function without taking his eyes off of the display screen. If the user is satisfied that he is contacting the correct push-button, the user can then activate the second stage portion and thereby launch the function.
Abstract: An image reading apparatus of the present invention includes a first light source, a first light guide, a second light source, a second light guide, light receiving elements and a lens unit. The first light source emits first light. The first light guide directs the first light from the first light source toward an image-carrying object as first linear light extending in a primary scanning direction. The second light source emits second light of a wavelength different from that of the first light. The second light guide directs the second light from the second light source toward the image-carrying object as second linear light extending in the primary scanning direction. The light receiving elements are arranged in the primary scanning direction. The first and second linear lights are reflected by the image-carrying object, and the reflected lights are guided by the lens unit toward the light receiving elements.
Abstract: A thermal printhead includes a substrate, a plurality of heat portions formed on the substrate and arranged in a primary scanning direction, a driver IC provided on the substrate to selectively heat the heat portions, and a cover covering at least part of the driver IC. The cover includes a pair of pinching portions spaced from each other in the primary scanning direction and pinching an end of the substrate in a secondary scanning direction.
Abstract: Provided is a device in which light from a sample 7 fixed in a test piece 1 is captured by an image sensor 5 through an optical system made up of a lens 3, a diaphragm 4, and so on and concentration information is obtained, wherein a wide-band light source 12 for illuminating the test piece 1 is combined with an optical filter 13 for optionally selecting a wavelength of the light captured by the image sensor. Thus it is possible to reduce a measurement error caused by a change of the light quantity distribution of the light source 12.

Abstract: In the production method of the present invention, an emulsion including a copolymer with a glass transition temperature (Tg) of ?50 to 20° C. is obtained by the emulsion polymerization of a monomer group including a monomer A that is a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester (where the alkyl group is an open chain group with 1 to 20 carbon atoms or a cyclic group with 5 to 20 carbon atoms) as the main monomer and a monomer B having a carbon-carbon double bond and a nonionic hydrophilic group such as a polyoxyalkylene group, an amide group, and a hydroxyl group. Liquid crystals are dispersed in this emulsion, which is applied onto a conductive film-coated substrate. Another conductive film-coated substrate is laminated thereto, and thus a liquid crystal light control device is obtained. A monomer C having a carboxyl group and/or an amino group and a carbon-carbon double bond may be used in combination with a crosslinking agent so that a crosslinked structure is introduced into the copolymer.
