  • Patent number: 7503069
Abstract: A computer system and method for intercepting, examining, and controlling data streams flowing via transport connections between the transport layer of an operating system and the user application. All data streams that pass from an external network, through the transport layer of an operating system to the user application or from the user application to the transport layer are intercepted by a network traffic interceptor. The network traffic interceptor processes all data streams for proscribed data that may include viruses, trojan horses, worms, and other hostile algorithms. The processing used by the network traffic interceptor can include monitoring, blocking or destroying data, thereby protecting the single computer system from being infected by hostile algorithms.

  • Patent number: 7479305
Abstract: The problem in forming solderable and bondable layers on printed circuit boards is that the surfaces tarnish after storage of the boards prior to further processing (mounting of the electrical components), thus affecting solderability and bondability. In order to overcome this problem it is suggested to deposit, in a first method step, a first metal which is more noble than copper to the printed circuit board and to plate silver in a second method step with the proviso that the first metal be deposited at a rate that is at most half the rate of silver in the second method step when the first metal is silver.

  • Patent number: 7373643
Abstract: The present invention comprises apparatus, methods and articles of manufacture for transferring data, comprising one or more update files made available upon distribution media, such as a server, a hash of the update files made available upon the server, as well as versions of the update and hash files upon a target or client. The distribution media then transmits the hash to the target or client, the hashes are compared, and, if they do not match, the update files are downloaded for further review and updating, if desired. If updating is desired, an update mechanism will then edit and/or replace files, modules, data and/or byte sequences on the target, according to the preferred embodiments. Embodiments for various platforms, including Unix® and Windows® NT are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7276377
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for determining a new anticoagulant therapy factor (nATF) for monitoring oral anticoagulant therapy to help prevent excessive bleeding or deleterious blood clots that might otherwise occur before, during or after surgery. In one embodiment, the new anticoagulant therapy factor is based upon a determination of a new fibrinogen transformation rate (nFTR) which, in turn, is dependent on a maximum acceleration point (MAP) for fibrinogen (FBG) conversion. The new anticoagulant therapy factor quantity is also based upon the time to maximum acceleration from the time of reagent injection (TX) into a plasma sample, but does not require the difficulty of obtaining prior art International Normalized Ratio (INR) and International Sensitivity Index (ISI) parameters. Other embodiments provide methods and apparatus for determining an anticoagulant therapy factor without requiring use of a mean normal prothrombin time determination or ISI.
