Abstract: A motheye mold fabrication method of at least one embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: (a) preparing an Al base in which an Al content is less than 99.99 mass %; (b) partially anodizing the Al base to form a porous alumina layer which has a plurality of very small recessed portions; (c) after step (b), allowing the porous alumina layer to be in contact with an etchant which contains an anodic inhibitor, thereby enlarging the plurality of very small recessed portions of the porous alumina layer; and (d) after step (c), further anodizing the Al base to grow the plurality of very small recessed portions.
Abstract: In one embodiment, the method includes selecting a list 0 motion vector of the co-located block in a first reference picture if the co-located block has the list 0 motion vector and a list 1 motion vector. The first reference picture is a type of reference picture permitted to be located temporally before or after the current picture. The method further includes deriving at least one motion vector of the bi-predictive block by applying a bit operation to the selected list 0 motion vector. The bit operation includes 8 bits right shift.
Abstract: A method of protecting a reactor component from fouling includes forming an oxide layer on a metal foil to achieve an antifouling liner. The antifouling liner may be manipulated into a shape that conforms to one or more surfaces of the reactor component that are contacted by a fluid during reactor operation. The metal foil portion of the antifouling liner is secured to the surface(s) of the reactor component by suitable means. As a result, the oxide layer portion of the antifouling liner is exposed to the fluid in the reactor, thereby reducing or preventing the fouling of the component.
Abstract: A padlock is provided that may include a lock body and a hoop which is movable between an open position and a closed position with respect to the lock body. The lock body may include an inner housing, an outer housing and a latching mechanism for latching the hoop in the closed position. The inner housing may include a first insertion part and a second insertion part which may receive the latching mechanism to form a pre-installable module. The pre-installable module may be inserted between first and second shells of the outer housing in shape matched manner to place the padlock in a fully assembled condition.
Abstract: A vehicle vacuum cleaning system may have a portable vacuum module that employs a vacuum module case, a vacuum fan within the interior of the vacuum module case and a vacuum fan drive shaft coupled to the vacuum fan. The vacuum module attaches and detaches to an HVAC module within the vehicle. The HVAC module may utilize an HVAC case, an electric motor within the HVAC case, an HVAC fan drive shaft coupled to the electric motor and an HVAC fan coupled to the HVAC fan drive shaft. The vacuum fan drive shaft is adapted to receive rotational energy from the HVAC fan drive shaft, either directly or through an auxiliary shaft. The vacuum module may employ gears to increase the speed and drawing force of the vacuum fan. A debris receptacle is detachable to the vacuum module. The HVAC fan drive shaft ultimately drives the vacuum fan.
Abstract: A display device for displaying an image may include display and control sections. The display section, provided by a liquid crystal display (LCD), may be configured to display the image with a luminance in accordance with a display signal voltage, the display section including pixels, each pixel in the LCD including first and second subpixels connected to same source and gate lines. The control section may be configured to divide each frame into first to m-th subframe periods, m being an integer greater than or equal to two, the control section configured to generate first to m-th display signals for the subframe periods for output to the display section such that dividing each frame into the subframe periods does not change a sum luminance output of the display section within each frame. The control section may create a difference between luminances of the first and second subpixels.
