  • Patent number: 6738575
Abstract: The lens information display apparatus is provided that allows the cameraman to check required lens information while looking at a viewfinder. A transmissive LCD panel is mounted in front of a screen of the viewfinder, and a control unit for controlling the image displayed on the LCD panel is attached to the bottom surface of the viewfinder. The control unit obtains lens information from a lens apparatus of a television camera system and causes the LCD panel to display images (characters and/or graphics) representing the lens information so that the lens information is displayed as superimposed on the image on the viewfinder.

  • Patent number: 6738452
Abstract: A target material delivery system in the form of a nozzle (50) for an EUV radiation source (10). The nozzle (50) includes a target material supply line (66) having an orifice (68) through which droplets (76) of a liquid target material (64) are emitted, where the droplets (76) have a predetermined size, speed and spacing therebetween. The droplets (76) are mixed with a carrier gas (74) in a mixing chamber (54) enclosing the target material chamber (60) and the mixture of the droplets (76) and the carrier gas (74) enter a drift tube (56) from the mixing chamber (54). The droplets (76) are emitted into an accelerator chamber (124) from the drift tube (56) where the speed of the droplets (76) is increased to control the spacing therebetween. A vapor extractor (90) can be mounted to the accelerator chamber (124) or the drift tube (56) to remove the carrier gas (74) and target material vapor, which would otherwise adversely affect the EUV radiation generation.

  • Patent number: 6736479
Abstract: An ink jet recording apparatus includes: a head body provided with a nozzle and a pressure chamber; an actuator including a piezoelectric element and an electrode for applying a voltage across the piezoelectric element; and a driving circuit for supplying a driving signal to the electrode of the actuator. The driving circuit always supplies an auxiliary pulse signal in every printing cycle. When ink is to be discharged, the driving circuit supplies, after the auxiliary pulse signal is supplied, an ink discharge pulse signal for driving the actuator so that the ink is discharged and so that an ink meniscus vibration in the nozzle is resonant with that caused by the auxiliary pulse signal.

  • Patent number: 6735946
Abstract: A solar power system is provided for converting sunlight into electricity. The solar power system utilizes a mirror to focus the sunlight into a cavity of an absorption chamber. The cavity includes heat conducting shoes which absorb the solar energy reflected by the mirror and conduct the thermal energy to a plurality of a free piston Stirling converters mounted to the absorption chamber. The Stirling converter converts the thermal energy into electrical energy. The solar power system of the present invention reduces costs of typical solar power systems by using a plurality of free piston Stirling converters of a size small enough to allow the use of a simple monolithic heater head which is simple and inexpensive to fabricate and does not require complex external tubular heat exchangers. The free piston Stirling converter does not require a crankshaft or contacting seals and thereby is reliable and low maintenance.

  • Patent number: 6736134
Abstract: This invention provides a thin wall header fabricated from a nickel-base superalloy, UNS N06626, for the solar absorption panels in a molten nitrate salt solar central receiver. The thin wall header is obtained by using multiple flow distribution nozzles to yield the smallest diameter header having uniform flow distribution for the panel tubes while providing enough space to butt weld the tubes to the nozzles with an automatic orbital weld head and avoid overlapment of the nozzle reinforcement regions. This small diameter combined with the high allowable tensile stress of UNS N06626 results in a thin wall header. The thin wall small diameter UNS N06626 header with its low thermal expansion coefficient and small temperature gradients and differentials during cloud cover induced molten salt temperature transients yields low thermal strains in the tube nozzle to header region. The nozzles may be formed by direct extrusion from the header wall or by insert-welding a machined nozzle into the header wall.

  • Patent number: 6737785
Abstract: An electric machine includes a stator with a plurality of circumferentially-spaced stator segment assemblies. A rotor rotates relative to the stator and defines an airgap between an outer diameter of the rotor and the inner diameter of the stator. Each stator segment assembly includes a stator segment core, an endcap that is attached to the stator segment core, and winding wire that is wound around the endcap and the stator segment core. The endcap provides first and second axial mating surfaces. The endcaps provide first and second circumferential surfaces on opposite axial ends thereof. First and second annular seals engage the first and second circumferential surfaces to provide circumferential seals at opposite axial ends of the stator. The annular seals, the axial seals and the circumferential seals prevent the entry of debris into the airgap.

  • Patent number: 6736468
Abstract: An article of furniture having a set of lockable drawers, a vertically-actuated lock rod, which has a plurality of extending lock members, and a plurality of dog members. Each of the dog members is coupled to a sidewall of an associated drawer and includes a resilient trailing portion. When the lock rod is positioned in an unlocked position, the lock members and the dog members do not cooperate to inhibit the movement of the drawers. When the lock rod is positioned in a locked position, the lock members are positioned horizontally in-line with the dog members. Contact between a lock member and the trailing edge of a dog member inhibits the opening of a drawer. The resilient construction of the dog member permits the drawers to be closed when the lock rod is positioned in the lock position.
